Item Carga Física De Trabajo Y Sintomatología Musculoesquelética En Trabajadores De Fábricas De Muebles En Palmira 2025(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025-11-27) Idrobo Cortes, Geraldine; Nazarith, Ana Camila; Zuluaga, Evelyn; Olmos Botero, Jhovanna (Directora)Ergonomics aims to adapt working conditions to human capabilities to prevent accidents and occupational illnesses, especially musculoskeletal injuries, which are a leading cause of work disability. In the woodworking industry, particularly in the informal sector and furniture factories, these risks are heightened by the manual nature of the work, which involves handling tools, lifting heavy objects, repetitive movements, and awkward or uncomfortable postures (such as constantly bending forward), exacerbated by a lack of ergonomic equipment and assistive devices, as well as psychosocial demands such as work-related stress. These positions exert mechanical strain, increase muscle fatigue, and generate significant symptoms such as intense back and neck pain, stiffness, loss of strength, and decreased mobility, impacting productivity and quality of life, and resulting in high costs. Therefore, a detailed ergonomic analysis is fundamental, and the present research aims to identify the main ergonomic risk factors associated with the appearance of musculoskeletal disorders in workers of wooden furniture factories in commune 3 of Palmira, applying a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional methodology through the use of validated instruments such as the Nordic Musculoskeletal Symptom Questionnaire and the REBA assessment method to characterize the physical load and propose interventions focused on the prevention and improvement of working conditions.Item Caracterización Estudiantil Programa de Fisioterapia, 2025(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025-11-27) Ramírez Cifuentes, Esteban; Marín Badillo, Camilo Andrés; Gómez Arboleda, Freyde Jael; Muñoz Martinez, Aida Paola (Directora)This report presents a student profile of the Physiotherapy Program students enrolled in the 2025B semester. Furthermore, the identification of physical, emotional, social, and lifestyle factors facilitates the design of health promotion and risk factor prevention strategies, strengthening the physiotherapist as a transformative agent of individual and collective health. In short, this report generates knowledge that guides institutional, academic, and well-being interventions, becoming a strategic input for enhancing the training of professionals committed to promoting movement, functionality, and health in all dimensions of the human being.Item Efectividad de las ventosas como tratamiento terapéutico para el manejo del dolor: revisión literaria 2014-2024 Effectiveness of cupping as a therapeutic treatment for pain management: a literature review 2014-2024(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025-11-25) Moran Ceballos, Liceth Karina; Rodríguez Murillo, Brenda Nayely; Solís Sánchez, Liseth Tatiana; Muñoz Martinez, Aida Paola (Directora)To determine the effectiveness of cupping as a therapeutic treatment for pain management by analyzing the existing literature between 2014 and 2024, a literature review was conducted based on the PIO (Patient, Intervention, Outcome) strategy, consulting databases and bibliographic sources such as PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Dialnet, Journals, Frontiers, BMJ, Scielo, and ResearchGate. Out of forty identified studies, six duplicate articles were discarded, 11 were selected based on title, seven were eliminated after full reading because they did not meet the established criteria, and finally, 16 studies were considered for the bibliometric and literature review analysis. The results showed and scientific evidence confirmed that cupping therapy is an effective and safe strategy for relieving musculoskeletal pain, improving range of motion, and improving musculoskeletal conditions, achieving notable improvements in patient mobility, recovery, and well-being, which positions it as an innovative and evidence-based therapeutic alternative capable of transforming the physiotherapeutic approach to pain.Item Función pulmonar en deportistas de halterofilia de un club deportivo, Palmira Valle 2025.(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025-11-27) López Jiménez, Lianna Stefanía; Hurtado Torres, Ximena; Castillo Girón, Ediz; Herrera Oyola, Lina Fernanda; Herrera Oyola, Lina Fernanda (Directora)Weightlifting demands explosive strength and stability, where the respiratory muscles generate intra-abdominal pressure and stabilize the spine, and whose study and training are essential for improving performance, force transfer, recovery, and injury prevention. Through a quantitative, observational, cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational study in athletes aged 8 to 20 years from a sports club, the objective was to evaluate pulmonary function, respiratory strength, and aerobic capacity in weightlifters. There was a significant correlation between dynamometry and relative strength in the snatch and clean and jerk, demonstrating that grip is crucial for stability and control of the barbell, while positive correlations were observed between peak inspiratory pressure (PIP) and peak expiratory pressure (PEP) and relative strength, suggesting that intra-abdominal pressure and core stability favor force transmission, and FEV1% was positively associated with relative strength in the snatch. In conclusion, performance in the snatch and clean and jerk also depends on factors such as grip strength and respiratory efficiency, where the relationship between dynamometry and relative strength highlights the importance of grip strength for stability and technical accuracy, while the positive trend with respiratory variables suggests that a better capacity to generate intra-abdominal pressure favors trunk stabilization and force transmission. The benefits of water for children with autism have physical, physiological and kinesiological effects, preventing functional alterations. An observational, descriptive, and longitudinal study was conducted between 2022 and 2023 using medical records of patients, where only 5 met the inclusion criteria: pre- and post-dynamometry and 6-minute walk test results, history of COVID-19 care within the year, last symptoms persisting for more than 12 weeks, hospitalization, and/or ventilatory support. The results show the presence of respiratory or cardiovascular comorbidities with decreased muscle strength, although interindividual differences in functional recovery are evident, as patients with a greater number of systemic conditions and post-COVID-19 complications continued to experience weakness, while those with oncological and musculoskeletal histories showed a better response to physiotherapy treatment. In conclusion, physical therapy reduces fatigue, improves physical activity, and increases functional independence, demonstrating that timely treatment is key to mitigating after-effects, preventing limitations, and promoting comprehensive rehabilitation.Item Efectos Del Entrenamiento Pliométrico Acuático Vs Terrestre Sobre El Salto Vertical Y Velocidad Del Sprint En Jugadoras De Futbol Femenino Revisión De Alcance.(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025-11-25) Ramirez Valencia, Miguel Ángel; Franco Yatacue, Juan Sebastián; Suarez Andrade, Sebastián; Villalobos Rios, Giovanny Andres (Director)Soccer is a sport that demands high levels of physical performance, where plyometric training stands out as an essential methodology to improve skills such as explosive strength, reactive capacity, and speed, which led this research to compare the effects of two plyometric training programs (aquatic vs. terrestrial) on vertical jump and speed in soccer players. The findings of this research showed that both land-based and aquatic plyometric training generated significant improvements in physical performance, but with differences in the magnitude of the adaptations observed. Specifically, the land-based group showed a more pronounced improvement in vertical jump (≈14%) and sprint speed (7–8%) compared to the aquatic group, which showed a smaller increase of 10% in vertical jump and 4-5% in sprint speed. However, the aquatic group reported a lower perception of fatigue and fewer musculoskeletal discomforts, highlighting its safety and low joint impact. In conclusion, land-based plyometrics is more effective for optimizing jumping ability, explosive power, and speed, while aquatic plyometrics offer advantages in injury recovery and prevention, suggesting that effective results require a systematic combination of both training programs to provide an optimal balance.Item Efectos de los programas de rehabilitación cardíaca y ejercicio terapéutico sobre la ansiedad y la depresión en pacientes con enfermedad cardiovascular.
