Item Acciones de intervención fonoaudiológica para favorecer el lenguaje oral en escolares – Una revisión de alcance en Latinoamérica(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Obregón Garcés, Eliana Marcela; Obando Castro, Jelner Alexander; Velásquez Guzmán, Eduardo José (Director)The actions of phonoaudiological intervention aimed at favoring oral language in school children are considered as those practices performed by these professionals as facilitating strategies that contribute significantly to the development processes in students who are in school context. The school population, specifically those who are in early childhood and second childhood, are a fundamental axis in this research since a great part of the professional and personal advances are achieved after the early detection of pathologies related to language and human communication processes, allowing them to directly reach maturity in these phases of development. On the other hand, the present investigation corresponds to a review of scope where methodologically it was linked to a search scheme called CPC (Concept, population and context). Automatic, manual and thematic filters were used to find scientific documents. Among the main findings, it was identified that the population taken as a research study belongs to the early and second childhood life course and that the strategies most used by speech therapists to promote oral language processes correspond to sentence structuring activities, sequences and play. One of the limitations of the present study was to find little scientific documentation that met the inclusion criteria in databases indexed in the Universidad Santiago de Cali.Item Alteraciones del lenguaje en el componente semántico en la población adulta mayor con demencia tipo Alzheimer grado severo: una revisión narrativa(2023) Lizcano Ledezma, Fredy; Díaz Villegas, Maria Alejandra; Burgos García, Monica Yadira (Directora)Communication disorders or difficulties in the older adult population, specifically in the area of language in the semantic component, are one of the great difficulties they present, given the neurodegenerative changes that occur in this stage of life. It is of great importance to study the changes regarding communication since the ability to relate to one another is being lost by not being able to express oneself.Item Alteraciones en la ingesta de alimentos por vía oral en adultos mayores con enfermedad de Alzheimer: una revisión de alcance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Quintero Rojas, Nicole; Vivas Díaz, Angélica María; Bernal Sandoval, Lina Marcela (Directora)Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a common disease associated with aging and the leading cause of dementia worldwide. The aim of this study is to investigate and characterize the deterioration of oral food intake in patients with Alzheimer’s disease in relation to geriatric syndromes and changes associated with cognitive decline. A scope review of studies published in repositories including PubMed, Medline, Lilacs and Google Scholar from 2013 to 2024 was conducted using relevant MeSH and DeCS terms. Of the 133 articles initially identified, 6 were selected for their detailed analysis of complete reading, showing that in the previous literature it has been shown that changes in feeding are related to the deficiency of lingual propulsion, ineffective chewing, significant oral residues after swallowing and the presence of cough or asphyxia when consuming solids and/or liquids, associated with AD, being the symptoms in moderate stage of the most pronounced pathology. Dysphagia is more common in older adults with neurodegenerative diseases that affect the stages of swallowing. People with AD need more help eating, reflecting their increased dependence on basic activities. This study highlights the importance of understanding and addressing nutritional problems in people with Alzheimer’s disease to improve their quality of life.Item Aportes de los entornos de la educación inicial para la identificación y abordaje de la disfemia: una revisión sistemática(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2021) Murillo Zapata, Daniela; Sánchez González, Delia esperanza; Torres Zambrano, Natalia (Directora)Dysphemia is a disorder characterized by involuntary interruptions in the fluency of speech, which are manifested in pauses, false starts, repetitions of syllables or words, among others; If not treated, specifically, at an early age, they can trigger communication problems and, with it, a disability or deficiency. In this sense, an investigation is carried out whose objective was aimed at recognizing the contribution of early childhood education environments to the identification and approach of dysphemia in early childhood as reported in the scientific literature between 2011 and 2021. To do this, A systematic review was carried out, following the PRISMA review methodology, from the review of studies that had to meet the previously established criteria (thesaurus descriptors, studies published between 2011 and 2021, studies indexed between quartiles Q1 to Q4), an in-depth reading was carried out that would allow the main findings to be nested in a life line (Excel format), to subsequently systematize and statistically measure the documents reviewed in light of the study objectives. Among the main conclusions, it stands out that standardized tests are used in educational settings, such as the use of protocols, and non-standardized ones, such as the evaluation of orofacial movements for the identification of dysphemia. Regarding the approach, the interventions vary between the use of reading comprehension texts, memory work, collaborative work and children's rounds. Revisión de literatura científica (2009 y 2019)(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) González Machado, Karol Jahaira; Torres Zambrano, Natalia (Director)The purpose of this research was to identify systematic criteria on the etiology and diagnosis of sudden deafness. For this, a descriptive, qualitative study with an observational, retrospective approach was carried out, using a documentary review method, describing criteria of systematicity, with respect to topic of clinical advances in the diagnosis and etiological definition of sudden deafness between the years 2009 and 2019. It was carried out through the search for articles extracted from scientific databases, considered keywords of international thesauri. Finally, 19 scientific documents with evidence-based methods were found for the reference period and it is concluded that there are no criteria that guarantee a systematic look at the study phenomenon. This research makes a report of 13 clinical cases describing: type of fissure, speech therapy diagnosis, number of surgeries to correct the fissure, presence or not of velopalatine insufficiency, integrity of anatomical structures such as: nasal and oral cavity, nasal patency and presence or not of articulatory compensations of the phoneme / s /, where the clinical database registered in the thesis registered in 2019 was taken as a reference: case report. In addition, it shows the acoustic characteristics of the deaf alveolar fricative phoneme / s / in people with cleft lip and palate, analyzing it through the PRAAT software, which provides acoustic data which can facilitate objective evaluation and diagnosis, as well as measure the therapeutic evolution and effectiveness of the speech therapy; this acoustic parameter can be projected as an indicator of the effectiveness of velopharyngeal closure and its impact within the joint of the phoneme being evaluated or treated. The object of study was the deaf alveolar fricative phoneme / s /, which is called fricative due to the friction produced in the passage of air with the teeth and lips; it is also deaf since the sound is air and there is no vibration of the vocal cords at the moment of articulation. This phoneme was chosen, since it is the only one of the fricatives that provides height of stridency within the acoustic characteristics, which provides articulatory information in relation to clinical correlates such as dental occlusion, palatal integrity and oral resonance. The analysis of the phoneme was carried out using the PRAAT Software, which yielded acoustic and articulatory behavior values, which were objectively analyzed. This research aimed to characterize the phonological production of dentoalveolar phonemes that occur in students with short lingual frenulum and hookworm diagnosed by applying the CEFAC language frenulum evaluation protocol.Item Características del proceso de lactancia materna en niños y niñas con labio paladar fisurado y/o paladar hendido(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Daza Palacio, Isabella; Lasso Otero, Assli Yineth; Guzmán Sánchez, Pilar Andrea (Directora)Breastfeeding is the most appropriate feeding method for the baby during the first six months of life, adapting to every moment and need of the infant. Breastfeeding provides the necessary nutrients for the proper growth and development of the child, adapting correctly to the digestive function; In addition, it provides benefits for both mother and infant individually and jointly, among these, the bond that develops during the breastfeeding process, promotes growth and brain development, physiological and immunological, helps hormonal and physical recovery, among other benefits. There are different barriers that limit the adequate process of maternal sucking, such as anatomical malformations of congenital origin, such as cleft lip and palate, which hinder the feeding process from an early age, having unfavorable effects on oral mechanics, and the ability to generate negative pressure in the sucking process and tight closure for nipple attachment, also affecting breathing and swallowing during BF.Item Caracterización de la comprensión de los verbos motores en pacientes con enfermedad de Parkinson: una revisión de alcance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Larrahondo Zuñiga, Kellen Andrea; Muñoz Torres, Sandra Lorena; Argüello Vélez, Patricia (Directora)Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative pathology that mainly affects the motor component due to the decrease of dopamine in the basal ganglia of the brain. Its deterioration not only reports important motor symptoms, but also cognitive symptoms, including mild cognitive impairment characterized by linguistic alterations in its expressive and comprehension aspects. Studies mention that patients with PD present greater difficulty in the semantic processing of action concepts (action verbs), than in immobile objects (non-action verbs), this perspective is supported under the framework of the corporeal theory of cognition.Item Caracterización de la ingesta de alimentos en el adulto mayor de los pabellones Santa Luisa, San Camilo y San José del Geriátrico y Ancianos San Miguel en el periodo 2018-2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Allin González, Lorena; Gómez Casasbuenas, Tania Marcela; Lizarralde Gómez, Gloria Stella (Directora); Millán Estupiñán, Juan Carlos (Director)Item Caracterización de la ingesta de alimentos y deglución en el adulto mayor con y sin alteración neurológica del Geriátrico Hogar Santa Inés de la ciudad Santiago de Cali durante el periodo 2018-2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Claros Ramos, María Elena; Lizarralde Gómez , Gloria Stella (Directora); Millán Estupiñán, Juan Carlos (Director)Item Caracterización de la ingesta de alimentos y la deglución de la Comunidad Geriátrica Hermanitas de los Pobres de la ciudad de Cali en el periodo 2018-2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Mora Pantoja, Jhysell Lorena; Lizarralde Gómez, Gloria Stella (Directora); Millán, Juan Calos (Director)Item Caracterización de la investigación formativa del programa de Fonoaudiología dela Universidad Santiago de Cali desde el 2002 hasta el año el 2018A(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Camacho Mosquera, Lorena Esmeralda; Cortés Erazo, Laura Marcela; Argüello Vélez, Patricia (Directora)The objetive of this study is to verify and characterize the behaviors of the formative research of the phonoaudiology program of the Santiago de Cali University from 2002 to 2018A. For this, a total of 136 digital and physical theses were analyzed, without including internships, research nurseries and monographs in the institution's library. For the analysis of this information, a series of variables were taken into account: methodological design, type of study, sample, disciplinary area, specific competencies of the phonoaudiologist, interdisciplinarity, informative products, area, place, territory and population which allowed the collection and organization of information. The results showed a greater number of the works of degree in thesis modality with a type of quantitative study and a transversal descriptive methodological design. Predominance was identified in the language area, followed by the area in professional matters. On the other hand, it was evidenced that within the specific competences of the phonoaudiologist, evaluation and treatment prevail with little interest in investigating more in the competence of integral rehabilitation, most of the studies do not refer interdisciplinarity. Regarding the research scenario, the superior educational institution prevails. In conclusion, we found a greater number of works framed in the model of evaluation and diagnosis in thesis mode with predominance in the area of language with a national and local research field.Item Caracterización de la prosodia en el adulto mayor con y sin alteraciones neurológicas en el Geriátrico Hermanita de los pobres en la ciudad Santiago de Cali en el periodo 2018 – 2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Ocampo Motta, Leydi Tatiana; Moreno Sanclemente, Dolly; Lizarralde Gómez, Gloria Stella (Directora)This article provides information on the prosodic characteristics of speech in the elderly with and without neurological alteration, from the geriatric center Little Sisters of the Poor in the city of Cali, in the period 2018-2019, evaluated by the Prosody Assessment Test in Speech (TEPHA), providing the prosodic performance of 66 older adults, in the areas of understanding, repetition and production of linguistic and emotional prosody, rhythm, speed of speech and expressiveness, separating older adults with motor-type neurological injuries ( ACV, cerebral aneurysm, brain dysfunction), those who presented neurological alterations of cognitive behavioral type (mental disorder, Alzheimer), those who presented both neurological disorders (brain dysfunction, mental disorder, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's) and the elderly without diagnosis. It is important to comment that the findings with greater difficulty in all the older adults were in the aspect of linguistic and emotional intonation in a 42%; as well as in the speed of spontaneous speech and reading in 45%. In the final results of the group of older adults with motor-type neurological lesions it was found that 50% had severe dysprosodia. Regarding older adults with cognitivebehavioral neurological alterations, it was found that 50% had low normal prosody. In older adults with mixed neurological disorders, 50% had low normal prosody and 50% had severe dysprosodia. In the elderly without diagnosis, it was evidenced that 32% had normal low prosody, 29% normal development of prosody, 20% alterations in prosody and moderate dysprosody, and 8% had severe dysprosodia.Item Caracterización de las compensaciones articulatorias del habla en pacientes con labio paladar fisurado que asisten a la Fundación Gracias a Dios un Niño Sonríe 2018(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Bernal Sandoval, Lina Marcela; Mendoza Angarita, Paola Andrea; Vásquez Rendón, Karem; Argüello Vélez, Patricia (Directora)Item Caracterización de las experiencias laborales de los egresados del programa de Fonoaudiología de la Universidad Santiago de Cali durante el periodo 2013–2018(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) González Guayupe, Luisa Fernanda; Roldán Valencia, Daniela; Saavedra Cárdenas, Maria de los Ángeles; Palacios Lenis, Jennifer (Directora)Item Caracterización de los componentes de la escritura en los estudiantes de bachillerato del colegio "Mi Pequeño Mundo Gimnasio Los Andes”, Pasto Nariño en septiembre de 2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Cárdenas Gutiérrez, María Alejandra; Gómez Tarazona, Yamerlyn Juliana; Londoño Núñez, Valeria; Palacios Lenis, Jennifer (Directora)Item Caracterización de los procesos articulatorios en niños de grado transición, Puerto Tejada Cauca, junio de 2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Coronel Martínez, Alix Jahaira; Sabogal Toro, Ana María; Zúñiga Vanegas, Cesar Augusto; Palacios Lenis, Jennifer (Directora)
