However, pathologies such as schizophrenia imply a deterioration in the patient's quality of life, since it involves their cognitive, social, emotional and physical capacity. The WHO mentions that people with schizophrenia are 2 and 2.5 more likely to die at a young age. The aim of this study is to conduct a review that allows characterizing schizophrenia as a disease that requires psychological intervention from palliative care. It was found that the literature on this topic is scarce, evidencing the limitations of psychological intervention in this area, since these patients develop multiple comorbidities that lead to the treatment being focused on physical illness leaving aside the mental disorder. Reason why, it is intended to propose an intervention strategy called Art Therapy, which allows the patient to develop their social skills and improve their quality of lifeItem ¿Abrir o no la cámara en clases mediadas por tecnologías? Item Acciones de fisioterapia en el deporte paralímpico, una revisión de alcance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Lucio Martínez, Mayra Alejandra; Mosquera Mosquera, Juan Camilo; Lozano López, Juliana; Urrea Arango, Diana Carolina (Asesora); Escobar Borda, Diana Marcela (Asesora)Item Acciones de intervención fonoaudiológica para favorecer el lenguaje oral en escolares – Una revisión de alcance en Latinoamérica(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Obregón Garcés, Eliana Marcela; Obando Castro, Jelner Alexander; Velásquez Guzmán, Eduardo José (Director)The actions of phonoaudiological intervention aimed at favoring oral language in school children are considered as those practices performed by these professionals as facilitating strategies that contribute significantly to the development processes in students who are in school context. The school population, specifically those who are in early childhood and second childhood, are a fundamental axis in this research since a great part of the professional and personal advances are achieved after the early detection of pathologies related to language and human communication processes, allowing them to directly reach maturity in these phases of development. On the other hand, the present investigation corresponds to a review of scope where methodologically it was linked to a search scheme called CPC (Concept, population and context). Automatic, manual and thematic filters were used to find scientific documents. Among the main findings, it was identified that the population taken as a research study belongs to the early and second childhood life course and that the strategies most used by speech therapists to promote oral language processes correspond to sentence structuring activities, sequences and play. One of the limitations of the present study was to find little scientific documentation that met the inclusion criteria in databases indexed in the Universidad Santiago de Cali.Item Acciones de prevención del riesgo cardiovascular asociados a variaciones del somatotipo endomesomorfico en adultos universitarios(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) García Bonilla, Karen Yoana; Moran Murillo, Stephanie; Betancur Valencia, Maria Camila; Vitery Ramos, Jenny del Rosario (Directora)The article highlights the importance of addressing cardiovascular risk related to body composition in university adults, emphasizing the need for preventive strategies adapted to this population. Physical activity, understood as any bodily movement involving energy expenditure, emerges as a key tool to preserve physical and mental health. This bibliographic review (2013–2023), based on randomized clinical trials, case-control studies, and following the PRISMA guidelines with the PEDro instrument, shows that caregiver burden is associated with physical and mental demands as well as unhealthy lifestyles. The results indicate that regular exercise, particularly aerobic activity, reduces stress, anxiety, depression, musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and cardiovascular risk, thereby improving caregivers’ overall well-being. In conclusion, the reviewed literature suggests that physical activity can reduce the symptoms related to caregiver burden syndrome in those caring for dependent individuals.Item Actividad física y su relación con un mejor pronóstico en la COVID-19: Revisión de alcance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Grisales Londoño, Alejandro; Marín Trujillo, Javier Octavio; Morales Gómez, Nicolás ; González Ruiz, Katherine (Directora)To evaluate the current state of research on physical activity and its relationship with a better prognosis in COVID 19.
