Item Efectividad de una intervención educativa para cuidadores de pacientes con hospitalización domiciliaria(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Portilla Chamorro, Daniela Katherine; Ortega Velásquez, Vanessa; Gómez Abadía, Michel Daniela; Naranjo Rojas, Anisbed (Directora); Cruz Mosquera, Freiser Eceomo (Director)Home care is defined as the set of biopsychosocial activities performed by an interdisciplinary team, the literature shows mixed educational interventions are effective when it includes content of promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, to detect, support and monitor the problems of both health, as social user and family, all in order to enhance autonomy and improve the quality of life of the patient. When we talk about home care we must take into account that there are two types of primary caregivers, the family member in charge of the patient who is almost totally given to the care of the patient, we also speak of a secondary caregiver who is the people closest to the patient. Patient and their relatives or, failing that, a person trained in the area of health, whose function is to be a support network or substitution, and have an economic remuneration. According to all this it is important to implement educational programs which increase the skills of care and implement strategies to improve participation in decision-making, approach to patient care and its different characteristics depending on the respiratory disease it presents. The main objective of the research was to identify the effectiveness of an educational intervention carried out one year for secondary caregivers of patients with home hospitalization, since care skills are not generated spontaneously, but all professionals as a group multidisciplinary has as a duty to provide guidance in almost all the necessary cities to promote the evolution of patients, optimize resources in home care decrease hospital readmissions to health care institutions and have cost effectiveness for these institutions, thus reducing excessive spending by a new hospitalization or patient complication associated with poor care management at home. Demonstrating to institutions the importance of implementing education programs to strengthen the knowledge and skills of workers, without leaving behind the periodic monitoring, control and evaluation of educational activities to measure the adherence of treatment to the patient and the Program. Inhalation or inhaled therapy is the basis of COPD treatment; One of its main advantages is the direct release of the drug at the site of action, requiring lower doses and favoring a faster onset of action, as well as reducing systemic adverse effects. In accordance with the above, this research project is proposed that corresponds to the macroproject initiated in a private IPS in Santiago de Cali, and which aims to evaluate the inhalation therapy technique in patients with a clinical diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) , through the application of a survey and verification of a checklist during the use of the inhalation therapy technique in hospitalized patients at the San Juan de Dios hospital in Cali in the 2019 period. To carry out the study, data from 60 hospitalized patients at the San Juan de Dios hospital in Cali with a clinical diagnosis of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), corresponding to the universe of the sample, were analyzed. According to the inhalation therapy technique, we found that 73% of the patients surveyed applied the technique in an acceptable manner, followed by 17% inadequate technique and only the remaining 10% adequate technique. Regarding the device, 100% of the patients surveyed used a metered dose inhaler and 63% of the patients included in the study used inhalocamara, while 37% did not use it.Item Prevalencia de sintomáticos respiratorios en personal vinculado laboralmente a una institución de salud, nivel dos en Santiago de Cali 2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Olivar Valencia, María Teresa; Torres Quintero, Támara Soraya; Endo Collazos, Nayibe (Directora); Ortiz Carrillo, María Eugenia (Directora)Item Efectos del cigarrillo electrónico en la salud respiratoria: revisión de la literatura(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Obregón Madrid, Anlly Yulanny; Prado Reascos, Julieth Alexandra; Rodríguez Herrera, Martha Lucia; Cruz Mosquera, Freiser Eceomo (Director)Item Educación de los pacientes con patologías respiratorias vinculados en los programas de rehabilitación pulmonar(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Segura Gómez, Paola Andrea; Córdoba Castillo, Mileidy; Cruz Mosquera, Freiser Eceomo (Director)Item Factores de riesgo cardiovascular y metabólico en los trabajadores de la salud en el Hospital San Juan de Dios período 2019A(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Fernández Velasco, Claudia Ximena; Hernández Muñoz, Dahiana Lizeth; Ordoñez Morales, Michelle Mariana; Ramírez Correa, Cesar Augusto (Director); Endo Collazos, Nayibe (Directora)Item Manejo respiratorio de la bronquiolitis (2010-2019)(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Cortes Cortes, Vanessa Indira; Gutiérrez Botina, Johana Marcela; Estupiñán Pérez, Víctor Hugo (Director)Item Percepción de la simulación clínica en los estudiantes de Terapia Respiratoria de 6 a 8 semestre periodo 2019A(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Cumaco Castillo, Kelly Adriana; Belalcazar Aguiar, Lizeth; Estupiñán Pérez, Víctor Hugo (Director); Arango Arango, Ana Cristina (Directora)Clinical simulation is an effective learning method that uses various technologies, among them we find high, medium and low complexity, which helps the student to develop in an environment that simulates reality. The implementation of simulation in the field of health as a pedagogical strategy, makes students strengthen and develop skills and abilities in their educational process before starting clinical practice. The clinical simulation in the training of the Respiratory Therapy student, encourages participation and prominence, allowing a reflection on the knowledge and skills acquired in the hospital. OBJECTIVE: To determine the satisfaction of clinical simulation in respiratory therapy students from 6th to 8th semester period 2019A. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Observational descriptive cross-sectional study, the sample was the entire universe, students of Respiratory Therapy from 6th to 8th semester of the Santiago de Cali University. We searched the bibliography in the databases provided by the Universidad Santiago de Cali (ScienceDirect, Scopus, Ebsco information services, Proquest). A validated and structured survey was applied, extracted from the article “Validation of quality survey and satisfaction of clinical simulation in nursing students”. RESULTS: Of the 78 students of Respiratory Therapy from 6 to 8 semester surveyed 83% correspond to the female gender, the age of the students ranges between 19 and 35 years, the type of simulation most used corresponds to intermediate fidelity with 63%, The frequency with which students perform their clinical practice is 3 times per week with 28%. CONLUSION: The majority of the students surveyed are satisfied with the spaces or scenarios where the respective simulations are carried out; indicating that these simulations have allowed him to develop technical skills and abilities in the exercise of his clinical practice.Item Nivel de conocimiento sobre el pulsioximetro en los cuidadores de la salud en dos instituciones hospitalarias en el periodo de mayo a septiembre de 2019(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Montaño Corrales, Erika Johanna; Ramos Turistar, William Geovanny; Almeida Arciniegas, María Alejandra; Estupiñán Pérez, Victor Hugo (Director); Arango Arango, Ana Cristina (Directora)Pulse oximetry is determined as the fifth vital sign, its use is routine in any hospital setting, it is a small and portable device that allows to measure quickly, safely and is also non-invasive. It is considered the standard for the early detection of hypoxemia, the titration of oxygen, helps to reduce the unnecessary administration of oxygen and rationalize this expensive input. The degree project that was carried out in two medium complexity hospital institutions in 2019, measured the level of knowledge about pulse oximetry through the application of a survey `` validated instrument of the article Popovich DM, Richiuso N, Danek G. Knowledge of pediatric health care providers about pulse oximetry. Pediatric Nurs [internet] .2004; 30 (1): 14-20. Available from '', which is anonymous and confidential composed of three phases to evaluation knowledge interpretation of reading parts and function of the oximeter, 220 health caregivers were interviewed among doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, respiratory therapists, nursing assistants, of which 4 participants were excluded because they did not meet 1 of the inclusion criteria. Result: after the analysis of each of the surveys, it was recorded that the health caregivers in greater proportion are female HMCR 60% and in HCI 65%, with an average age of HMCR 29 years and HCI 32 years; It was also determined that in HMCR there is an equal proportion between technicians and undergraduates with 40% and in HCI there is a greater proportion of technicians with 60%. It is determined that there is a deficit of knowledge in institutions about pulse oximetry, since health care providers do not recognize the factors that alter pulse oximetry, to determine if there was a significant difference in knowledge between professions and institutions, the Fisher's exact test used in small individual groups.Item Indicaciones del oseltamivir en casos altamente sospechosos y/o confirmados de influenza(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Villota Grijalba, Anyela Yisel; Hurtado Fernández, Andrés Felipe; Luna Bolaños, Mónica Cristina (Directora)Acute Respiratory Infections (AGs) are among the top ten causes of death in the general population and within the top three in children under five and older than 60, pathogens such as viruses and bacteria found in type A and B influenzas that depend on the seasons and the occurrence of epidemiological peaks, which is why the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2009 generates recommendations for the control and treatment of of the disease, among them are retrovirals such as Oseltamivir that are a group of drugs that act by inhibiting the replication of the virus Different studies show that Oseltamivir shortens the duration of symptoms in patients who have or do not have a risk factor, this in turn reduces hospital stay and decreases the incidence of the disease, on the other hand studies highlight that there are adverse factors related to the consumption of the drug such as the exacerbation of symptoms patients with schizophrenia, others such as hematochonesy and diarrhea. Oseltamivir is distributed under country-based guidance by WHO, although pharmacovigilance studies have shown in different regions of inconsistencies in delivery by government health entities which has generated drug shortages, and it 10 has been observed that Oseltamivir treatment options in relation to presentation have significant difference, as in developed countries they can be found greater number of presentations which produces more options for treatment, so knowing about the drug and its different considerations that are taken into account to be delivered becomes an excellent support tool to improve health service and provide safety and comfort to the patient. Objective. Characterize a rural population of Cali with a perspective from the social determinants, and review strategies for promotion and prevention. Materials and Methods. Mixed studio. Quantitative component of observational design and cross-sectional analysis of a survey that in 2019 used as an instrument the family characterization sheet of the Primary Health Care program of the Ministry of Public Health. Another component was a literature review regarding educational strategies for respiratory health. Results. 53.3% of the 90 respondents are women, more than 80% of the population has social security in health, only 16% of young people attend promotion and prevention programs; risk behaviors and unhealthy lifestyles are found, only 30% of people are physically active, and smoking is found as a harmful habit. Strategies in promotion and prevention that promote respiratory health from social participation are presented, focusing on solidarity support through a community network of self-care. Conclusions: The modification of unhealthy habits is related to adequate health education. In the prevention of respiratory conditions it is important to know the relationship between smoking and lung cancer. The strategies of promotion and prevention in health benefit the groups from the social participation.
