Item Abordaje del síndrome de ansiedad desde el enfoque psicosocial(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Chica Rojas, Jenny Patricia; Henao, Carolina Giraldo (Directora); Cuevas Arenas, Héctor (Director)This bibliographical review aims to provide tools to identify the characterological traits of anxiety, the factors that may represent a risk or be protective in the person's social environment and the types of treatment and current interventions. Through the search in four databases, it was possible to carry out the analysis of 32 articles by authors in different countries of the American and European continent, a variety of professions and disciplines were evidenced that contributed a multiplicity of perspectives. As a result, it was found that there is a specific population that is mostly affected by AS (anxiety syndrome), women, as well as a range of ages ranging from 6 to 40 years who are more likely to experience an episode of SA either due to the educational or work context. Finally, as a discussion, it is proposed to be able to dimension new intervention alternatives to counteract the symptoms of AS and the proposal of a gender perspective to investigate the forms of oppression towards women and its consequences in the deterioration of their mental health.Item Abordaje Psicosocial en Salud Mental(2023) Duque Carvajal, Lina María; Martínez Rodas, Liliana; Quintero Parra, Isabella; Giraldo Henao, CarolinaAlzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia. It is a degenerative neurological disorder that progresses over time and has no cure. Its main indicator is memory loss for recent events, but as it progresses, other symptoms may emerge such as lack of interest, sadness, mood swings, restlessness, irrational thoughts, wandering, and in some cases, moments of aggression. This study aimed to investigate to raise awareness about the burden of caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's, to analyze this approach the study was based on analyzing four categories: the effects of caring for a patient with Alzheimer's, feminization and familiarization of care, the coping strategies to overtake the care and care of the caregiver as preventive and accompaniment programs. The method used was a systematic review through searches in the Scopus, Sage Journals, Science Direct databases of the library repository of the Santiago de Cali University between the years 2019 and 2023. In conclusion, caring for a patient with Alzheimer's is a challenge that requires dedication, patience, and understanding. Caregivers play a crucial role in providing emotional, physical and practical support to patients. It is important for carers to take care of themselves, greater awareness and support from society at large is required to ensure that carers receive the necessary support in their important work.Item Abuso sexual infantil en la dinámica familiar en la ciudad de Cali(2024) Gomez Rodríguez , Yina Talia; Chacón Gironza, Laura Sofía (Directora)The present analysis aims to present the research conducted on sexual abuse, addressing the issues and factors related to this behavior in the family context, where children emerge as the primary victims of these assaults. Sexual abuse, a significant problem affecting defenseless individuals, especially in early childhood, is characterized by manifestations of power and domination perpetrated by authority figures within the family circle, such as parents, grandparents, uncles, or other close members. It is crucial to note that the occurrence of intrafamilial child sexual abuse is influenced by sociocultural factors. In this context, the analysis aims to delve into the sociocultural characteristics that impact cases of child sexual abuse within the family environment in the city of Cali. The methodology employed for this thesis project involved conducting a systematic review article of documents. This included an exhaustive investigation of documents and literature to determine the relevance and importance of the research, ensuring the pertinence of the addressed topic. The analysis covers findings related to family dynamics, family structure, roles and types of families, highlighting the significant impact of the violation of children and adolescents in these situations. This comprehensive analysis seeks not only to document the existence of child sexual abuse within the family setting but also to provide a deeper understanding of the conditions and contexts that favor its occurrence. This will enable the development of more effective strategies for prevention, intervention, and support for victims, considering the complexity of the socio-cultural factors involved.Item Acceso y permanencia que enfrentan los estudiantes de Trabajo Social víctimas del conflicto armado y social de la Universidad Santiago de Cali(2024) Yineth García, Geidy; Vallecilla Palomino, Yuly; Portocarrero Mancilla, Diana Vanessa; Ospina Nieto, Yovany (Asesor)The objective of this research work is to identify the social problems that affect access and permanence in higher education of students who are victims of social and armed conflict in the social work program of the Santiago de Cali University. Colombia has been the scene of one of the longest internal armed conflicts in the Western Hemisphere, which has deeply impacted millions of university-age young people. These young people, by overcoming their state of vulnerability, face great challenges to build a life project, with higher education being one of the main tools to achieve it. In this context, the study focuses on the specific challenges that student victims of the Colombian armed conflict encounter when trying to enter and remain in higher education institutions. The analysis focuses on students in the social work program at the Universidad Santiago de Cali, who have experienced various difficulties such as forced displacement and academic barriers derived from interruptions in their education. Using a qualitative methodology, based on life stories and focus groups, their experiences are investigated, as well as the strategies they have implemented to overcome these obstacles and continue their academic training.Item Afectaciones mentales en mujeres gestantes y parto humanizado(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Buitrago Rey, Claudia Lorena; Becerra Caviedez, Isabella; Echeverry Marín, Angie Nicol; Giraldo Henao, Carolina (Directora); Cuevas Arenas, Héctor (Director)Analyze the causes of mental affectations of pregnant women, the methods implemented to mitigate these problems in the mental health of pregnant women and how the process of humanized childbirth has been carried out in the clinical area. Method: it is a descriptive study, where a research process was carried out, in order to determine the causes that affect pregnant women's mental health, what methodologies have been implemented for the improvement and follow-up of such problems that they present. Result: it was found that pregnant women present significant changes where their mental health is affected, taking into account that in the investigations it was also found that many of the pregnant women face breakups, family violence, precarious economy, low schooling, physical problems such as diabetes, thyroid or preeclampsia, among others that affect their mental stability and it is totally pertinent to follow up, or methodology found music therapy and yoga, where also the investigation leads us to have relevant knowledge about humanized childbirth and its law which is very recent. It was thought from the qualitative approach, taking into account the variables of citizen participation, social movements and the right to protest based on different perspectives of authors, to finally think about its emphasis on social work. The method of analysis of media discourses allowed us to understand the gaze of Noticias Uno from a neutral point of view, according to the typologies of the communication medium. Recognizing that violence against men within heterosexual couples has increased notably and the violence that most often occurs is: psychological, physical and sexual, it was also determined that it is essential to prevent these violent behaviors or naturalize them from childhood and adolescence, since this is a factor that can significantly influence people's lives.Item Artivismo social, reconfiguración de un discurso de resistencia(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Ortiz Urrutia, Daniela; Torres Rosero, Nicol Andrea; Bonilla Angulo, Valentina; Gil Claros, María Fernanda (Directora)This thesis investigates how social artivism contributed to creating a narrative of resistance and social protest during the demonstrations in Cali between 2019 and 2021. It examines how artistic and activist expressions merged to transform the discourse and public perception of resistance, using a visual and emotional language that transcends traditional political communication. Through a qualitative approach, techniques such as document review, semi-structured interviews, and social mapping were employed to understand the impact of artivism on the Cali community. The findings show that artivism not only served as a form of expression but also as a tool for uniting and strengthening the community, demonstrating its ability to influence and mobilize during times of social change. This study highlights the importance of social work engaging with these topics, opening a door for analyzing and investigating the role of art in activism and its contribution to the formation of social movements. In marginalized communities, this problem is intensified by the lack of institutional protection, thus perpetuating a cycle of abuse and normalization of violent behavior in the home. The research adopts a qualitative hermeneutic approach to interpret relevant texts, using the documentary review method and selects 36 studies in relation to the topic. These studies suggest that power and control dynamics affect both women and their children, who, growing up in a violent environment, may replicate these patterns in their future relationships. Therefore, the objective was to understand the affective and emotional barriers that hinder access to support resources for women victims of family violence in Colombia. Among the most important findings, the impact of emotional dependence and control on women's family dynamics stands out, which contributes to their isolation and limits access to support services.Item “Cicatrices invisibles” El impacto psicosocial de la violencia intrafamiliar en la niñez(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Quintero Acosta, Santiago; Camacho Pérez, Ramiro; Astudillo Villaquirán, Luz Dayanna; Prado, Beatriz Eugenia (Directora)The article 'Invisible Scars: The Impact of Violence on Children' addresses the shocking reality of how domestic violence leaves invisible scars on children. While the physical wounds may not be obvious, the emotional and mental scars are deep and lasting. From the perspective of a social worker committed to the welfare of the community, it is essential to explore ways to address this issue. It also emphasizes the importance of promoting education and awareness about domestic violence, both in families and in society in general. Within this article are some strategies to try to prevent domestic violence and promote healthy relationships within the home. Children exposed to domestic violence may experience problems such as anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. These experiences can also affect their long-term social and emotional development. It is crucial to provide support to these children and families to help them overcome trauma and prevent future violence. By raising awareness of this issue and providing appropriate resources, we can work toward a future where children grow up in safe and loving environments.Item Condiciones laborales del sector informal que inciden en el sentido proyectivo de la vida en jóvenes entre los 18 y 24 años en Santiago de Cali(2025) Acevedo Nieto, Natalia; Valencia Sánchez, Kaherin Nicole; Cruz Mora, Diana Marcela (Directora)This article analyzes how working conditions in the informal sector impact the life projects of young people aged 18 to 24 in Santiago de Cali. Using a qualitative approach, within the interpretive paradigm and through the phenomenological method, experiences and perceptions of 10 young individuals were collected through semi-structured interviews, nonparticipant observation, and document review. The findings reveal that although informal work offers income and autonomy for many youth, it also hinders their personal, educational, and professional development due to a lack of stability, labor rights, and social security. Factors such as low educational attainment, heavy family financial burdens, and limited participation of women due to gender roles exacerbate this situation. Moreover, the study identified limited awareness of youth employment public policies and a widespread perception of the state's inefficacy in implementing them. The research highlights the need to strengthen employability policies from a territorial, inclusive, and youth-participatory perspective, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8. It concludes that informality should not be addressed solely from an economic standpoint but as a multidimensional phenomenon that affects the full exercise of youth citizenship, and that social work can play a key role in addressing this issue. This study provides essential insights for designing strategies better suited to the realities of this vulnerable population.Item Conocimientos y necesidades de formación con la que cuentan los docentes de la Universidad Santiago de Cali: Una perspectiva desde la educación inclusiva para la discapacidad(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Molina Carlosama, Estefanía; Rincón Fernández, Teresa de Jesús; González Osorio, María Fernanda (Directora)Santiago de Cali University is characterized by providing an extensive access to the disabilities community but inclusive education goes beyond access, academic level and teacher training to guarantee equal opportunities and permanence for students with disabilities, It must also be an important and significant factor which is necessary to keep in mind. 10 antecedents related to the researching topic, disability and inclusive education were recorded. In the theoretical reference, the concepts of inclusive education, educational inclusion, the social model of disability on which the research is based are developed, the results showed the low level of teachers about knowledge of disability and inclusive education, also the huge needs of training that teachers have, it was also recognized that they are not part of informal spaces and the university promote only a few formal spaces where inclusive education and disability are discussed, from the intervention of social work recommendations are given to generate an awareness of the entire educational community facing disability.Item Consecuencias psicosociales que genera el abandono familiar del adulto mayor(2024) Valencia Navarrete, Harold Steban; Ospina Nieto, YovanyThe abandonment of the elderly in the San Miguel geriatric and elderly hospital in the city of Cali, is a latent problem that affects the well-being of adults, as the main objective of the research is to know the main psychosocial consequences generated by family abandonment to three older adults. The work is approached from three theoretical perspectives, in 1 human development is addressed through Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory, this is related to the social representations that Moscovici speaks in his theory and how it affects the well-being of adults. It ends with the emotional factors of Bowlby's attachment theory. The qualitative methodology is used to understand meanings, experiences and perspectives of the participants in detail, it is approached from semi-structured interviews and life stories to understand everything that happened before and after arriving at the institution. The results found in the present investigation show that the abandonment of the elderly has a negative impact on the emotional and social health of adults, these findings highlight the importance of strengthening family networks and promoting an effective and safe environment for the quality of life of adults.
