Item El rol de la clase de educación física en el manejo de las emociones en estudiantes adolescentes de bachillerato de un colegio público de la ciudad de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Ruiz Montaño, Juan Carlos; Giraldo Acosta, Daniel Felipe (Director)Physical education plays a fundamental role in the management of students' emotions, especially during adolescence, a key stage in emotional development. Through physical, sports, and recreational activities, adolescents have a space to express and manage their emotions, thereby improving their emotional well-being. The aim of this research is to analyze the role of physical education classes in the management of emotions in tenth-grade students at the Republic of Israel school in the city of Cali. A qualitative, cross-sectional, and descriptive approach was developed, grounded in theory, with a sample of 5 students. These students participated in a semi-structured interview, and the data analysis was conducted using grounded theory, which proved to be very useful for studying complex and poorly understood phenomena. The results revealed that physical education classes had a significant influence on the students' emotion.Item Ensayo crítico sobre la incidencia de la tecnología en el abandono del Deporte en los adolescentes(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Mosquera Aragón, José Manuel; Rivera Hurtado, Ferney (Director)Introduction: The increased use of digital devices has significantly altered adolescents’ daily routines, fostering more sedentary lifestyles. Objective: This reflection aimed to analyze the relationship between excessive technology use and sedentary behavior in adolescents, based on recent studies exploring this phenomenon. Methodology: A literature-based analysis was conducted using research from academic journals and institutional reports addressing physical activity, screen time, and adolescent health. General Reflection: The findings revealed that factors such as lack of parental supervision, insufficient physical activity integration in schools, and non-educational screen use contribute to a decline in physical engagement among adolescents. Socioeconomic and gender-based disparities were also noted in technology usage patterns, highlighting the importance of context-specific interventions. Conclusions: It is essential to rethink the educational and familial roles in managing technology use to encourage active habits. Technology, when not properly guided, can displace physical practices and negatively affect both cognitive and emotional development. Therefore, this article advocates for a critical balance between the benefits of digital tools and the physical health needs of youth.Item Estrategias docentes que pueden ser utilizadas para afrontar la indisciplina en los cursos de octavo grado(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Ordoñez Clavijo, Jeison Stiven*; Perlaza Lucumi, Jhanpier Sleyde**; Madroñero Liñan, Karen Ximena***; Avendaño Rodríguez, Luis Alfredo (Director)This reflective article aims to analyze, from a critical and proactive perspective, the strategies that teachers can implement to address school indiscipline in eighth-grade classrooms. This issue remains a constant challenge in educational institutions, impacting the quality of teaching, classroom coexistence, and the comprehensive development of students. The paper identifies the main causes of disruptive behavior, including lack of motivation, family conditions, adolescence-related changes, unclear classroom rules, and the insufficient training of novice teachers in classroom management. Based on bibliographic review, teaching practice experiences, and contextual analysis, the article proposes various formative strategies focused on prevention, dialogue, the construction of agreed-upon rules, the use of participatory methodologies, and the development of socio-emotional skills. It also highlights the importance of institutional support for beginning teachers. The article suggests that indiscipline should not be viewed solely as a threat to teacher authority but rather as an opportunity to transform educational dynamics toward more empathetic, participatory, and respectful environments. It concludes that approaching indiscipline from a formative perspective strengthens school coexistence, fosters meaningful learning, and contributes to building more humane and inclusive educational communities.Item Influencia del ejercicio físico en la autoestima de los adolescentes latinoamericanos(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Guzmán Marulanda, Nicolás; Vallejo Delgado, Alexanderson; Rivera Hurtado, Ferney (Director)The practice of physical activity plays a fundamental role in the development of self-esteem in young people. Physical activity provides young people with a number of benefits that have a direct impact on their self-image. During adolescence, physical and emotional development is crucial for establishing personal identity. In addition to benefiting health, physical exercise has an important effect on adolescents' self-esteem. This research aims to investigate the effects of physical exercise on the self-esteem of young people. It seeks to understand how physical activity impacts on positive body perception and self-confidence. Different studies suggest that consistent exercise is related to an increase in self-confidence and a more positive body image among adolescents. The relationship is influenced by the feeling of success in achieving physical goals, the release of endorphins and the bond with one's own body. On the other hand, exercising provides the opportunity to interact socially and be part of sports teams, which strengthens self-esteem by experiencing a sense of belonging in a community. In addition, physical activity reduces stress and anxiety, which contributes to improving emotional state. In short, it is essential to encourage healthy exercise habits from an early age in order to achieve a complete development in adolescents. In addition to strengthening the body, movement also improves self-image and self-confidence. Promoting physical exercise during this period helps create a more confident and resilient generation.
