This research work deals with an innovative pedagogical proposal that aims to use the game as a pedagogical strategy to strengthen collaborative work in the boys and girls of the Estrellitas Kids Bilingual Kindergarten in garden grade between the ages of 4 and 5. didactic sequence for carrying out the activities proposed, which incur in the development of game skills and behaviors inherent in strengthening collaborative work, where boys and girls have the opportunity to have fun, display their ability to learn to do, learn to learn already interact.
Estrategias de enseñanza que contribuyen a fomentar el autoestima en la primera infancia

The research developed made use of a qualitative methodology, with a descriptive approach, which was attended by eleven kindergarten students from the Santiaguitos Children's Garden in the city of Cali; where a series of recreational-pedagogical activities were implemented with the children of the pre-kindergarten two grade, in order to improve the socio-affective competence specifically in the management of an inadequate self-esteem. We sought to strengthen the emotional state of the children, their intra and inter personal relationships, which is why we went to the development of a didactic sequence divided into ten sessions each aiming to improve the socio affective competence.

The present project focuses on the use of the pedagogical strategy, "The organic garden", which gives the motivation of children in the Kindergarten of the Tórtolas de Timbiquí Cauca to return to the classroom. In the kindergarten there are 15 children between 2 and 6 years old. The current problem is that children have left the classroom because they prefer to accompany their parents to their work, being these the agriculture and fishing. For the above, we present the pedagogical proposal The Organic Garden in order to motivate children to return to the classroom, the proposal de contextualiza since it is part of their culture and daily practices of family life , but through this a pedagogical purpose is achieved where one works from the integrality of the boy and the girl. Through this, the aim is to improve the learning rhythms, and in this way, boys and girls, boys and girls.
Failures in EFL Literacy at Higher Education

The next proposal attends to analyze students of English as a second language (ESL), who might be presenting difficulties in literacy skills. In order to recognize those difficulties and know how those are related to a non-completely successful second language (L2) learning of English. To accomplish this study the main focus is literacy, skills, and evaluation as the theoretical framework on which the research will be supported, to get the proper data collection and its later analysis. The Santiago de Cali University (USC) language institute was chosen to develop this study, specifically the first level English students. Considering that in a beginner level it would be easier to recognize the literacy skills failures focus on grammar, presented by the students in the effort to comprehend and try to classify which their possible sources are and why they remain until a high educational level like University. The methodology implemented was the qualitative research through a survey and a written assignment, which allowed us to identify the literacy skills failures. Finally, with this study we would like to contribute to education, in this case to the L2 teaching and learning process. We, as foreign language learners. Have struggled with literacy skills difficulties and we believe that if a teacher realizes about students failures; and delve into their possible causes, it might be easier to attempt to guide the student into a process of learning while correcting mistakes instead of just learning by jumping into gaps.
Integrating ICT in teaching a foreign language

The research consists on the analysis of the integration of information and communication technologies in language teaching in a teacher formation program in a private university in Cali. It aims to identify the attitudes, uses and perspectives of teachers and students regarding the integration of technology in the teaching of a foreign language, in the Integrated Skills course in English VII of the program of Foreign Languages at Santiago de Cali University. In addition, our theoretical perspective focuses on the active use of technology in education and language teaching. This is a qualitative case study where interviews, surveys, and observations were used for the data collection. The collected information was analyzed by frequency analysis and discourse analysis. The results show that some of the professors of the program of foreign language at Santiago de Cali University use technology for the development of their classes. However, the use of technologies in classes focuses on a passive notion of the apprentice where technology is used mainly to perform limited activities. In addition, the findings suggest that there must be a teacher training in order to use technology in education to develop different activities in order to motivate students during their learning process. Consequently, it is suggested that future studies focus on the students' conception of technology and the impact of particular language skills and their conception of language teaching and learning. Moreover, this research is useful for future researchers in order to analyze the importance of the integration of information and communication technologies in the classroom. Finally, this study opens the door to future research for a greater understanding of the processes of integration of technology in the training of foreign language teachers.
Creation and use of an english language primer for transition level students

The present study focuses in the methodology implemented by teachers to strengthen the five to six years old student's reading skills at the Santiaguitos kindergarten located in the Santiago de Cali University. For this purpose, a diagnostic observation was set up and implemented for students while an interview with structured questions was conducted with the teacher and administrative staff, seeking to obtain relevant and significant information regarding the English proficiency level of each student selected for the study. The methodology implemented by the teacher in order to teach English language was also revised, as the methodology implemented by the teachers to strengthen the Santiaguitos kindergarten student's reading skills. The main goal was to test a new didactic material, (a primer) in English language, that was designed previously in order to improve the student's reading skills by using images (animals, colors, family members, numbers) and simple puzzles based upon the constructivist paradigm. After exposing the children to the new Primer and its associated activities, new testing and interviews allowed the assessment of the Primer´s advantages and challenges.
Las motivaciones en el proceso de aprendizaje de la tabla periódica

The present research project was able to describe the fundamental role of extrinsic and intrinsic motivations within the learning process of the periodic table of undergraduate students in natural sciences of the Santiago de Cali University. For this reason, a qualitative research is carried out, using an instrument for the collection of information that in this case was a semi-structured interview. For this reason, some evidence is obtained through writing and audios, where later results are derived which indicate that the motivations have a direct relationship with the learning process of the periodic table, being able to be contextualized towards everyday life phenomena. Propuesta Educativa de la Práctica de Esgrima de Machete y Bordón de la Comunidad Portejadeña en el Marco de la Cátedra de Estudios Afrocolombianos

El objetivo principal de la presente investigación, es crear una propuesta educativa de la práctica cultural de Esgrima de Machete y Bordón de la comunidad portejadeña en el marco de la cátedra de estudios afrocolombianos, este proceso se llevó a cabo en la Institución Educativa Fidelina Echeverry en el área de afrocolombianidad, con niños y jóvenes entre las edades de 12 a 18 años pertenecientes a los grados sexto a undécimo. La metodología utilizada en la investigación es mixta predominantemente cualitativa, para la recolección de información se hizo uso de la entrevista semiestructurada, grupos focales y la encuesta; en términos teóricos se trabajan los cundécimoptos de cultura popular abordado desde los postulados de Bajtín (1990), la representación desde lo propuesto por Chartier (1992), la tradición desde Hobsbawm (1983) y por último la identidad cultural a partir de lo propuesto por Molano (2007) , todos estos cundécimoptos fueron los hilos conductores de la investigación, permitiendo un abordaje amplio del objeto de estudio. Entre los resultados más importantes del proceso investigativo, se concluye que la Esgrima de Machete y Bordón tiende a desaparecer como consecuencia del desconocimiento de la misma y de las dinámicas de identidad que construyen las nuevas generaciones condicionadas por el contexto global que fomenta patrones de homogeneización, también se logra concluir que la Cátedra de Estudios Afrocolombianos se convierte en una herramienta de vital importancia en el campo educativo para dar a conocer la diversidad cultural del país y hacer un reconocimiento a los aportes de las comunidades afrocolombianas, por ultimo como resultado final de la investigación se crea la propuesta educativa compuesta por una secuencia de actividades que busca acercar pedagógicamente a los estudiantes a la práctica de Esgrima de Machete y Bordón.
Construcción del concepto de inecuación lineal en una variable, utilizando herramientas virtuales

In this paper, the construction of the concept of linear inequality is analyzed through virtual tools such as: GeoGebra, PhET, and MathPapa in ninth grade students of the Liceo Los Pinos school in the city of Cali (Valle del Cauca). We will use, as a methodology of research, the one developed in the "Ethnography and qualitative design in educational research", proposed by (Goetz, 1984). Six chapters of development have been proposed to carry out this project: in the first chapter the bibliographic compilation is made, where the didactic transposition oriented towards constructivism is defined, which describes learning as a construction process on the part of the student. In the second chapter, the theoretical framework and the legal framework are developed. The third chapter presents the methodology used, the 5 data collection instruments and their respective analyzes. The fourth chapter refers to the context. In the fifth chapter the design of the sequence of activities is developed where the use of virtual tools for the concept construction is evidenced. And finally, in the sixth chapter, the interest that virtual tools produce is observed in ninth grade students. Allowing to appreciate that these tools are facilitators of learning in an interactive and fun way
Séquence phonétique pour le développement de la perception et de la prononciation du e muet [ə] dans le présent de l’indicatif

Teaching and learning the pronunciation of a foreign language can be a difficult task, even more if there are no phonemes in the student's phonological system. The purpose of this research is to develop the perception and pronunciation of the silent “e” of French, which absence in the Spanish vowel inventory causes complications for Spanish speakers. In order to achieve this objective, a diagnostic evaluation was carried out in order to identify the level of perception and pronunciation of the phoneme. Additionally, a phonetic sequence was implemented, and its activities were evaluated by means of scales and rubrics. The bibliographic review was established through three constructs which are the phonetic characteristics of the vowel system of French and Spanish, the teaching pronunciation’s methods and approaches in French as a foreign language and the Common European Framework of Reference associated with pronunciation. Furthermore, in the analysis of the results, multiple improvements were found in the performance of the sample, which is a group of beginner students of the French Alliance from Cali enrolled in module A1.2. In this way, it was possible to verify that the phonetic sequence allowed the development in a great degree the perception and the accurate pronunciation of the silent “e” of French in the inflectional morphemes of the verbs of the first group conjugated to the indicative present.
Aprendizaje de la clonación desde una perspectiva socio-científica

Twelve students from Santiago de Cali University participated in interviews and activities to explore their previous ideas, reactions and feelings regarding the situations posed: 1) cloning of cells to produce them, 2) use of transgenics in the home, and 3 ) the use of gene therapy to help infertile couples. From the initial sample of these twelve students, three were selected to be the subject of this study. The data were analyzed qualitatively to characterize in an emergent way the moral tasks recognized by each participant, in order to explore the degree to which university students interpret the relationships with gene therapy and cloning, through a socio-scientific approach that influences its decisions in this regard and encourages moral reasoning. The students expressed sensitivity to the moral aspects such as concern and empathy for the well-being of others, an aversion to the alteration of the natural consequences of the order and an emotionality linked to their decisions. Upon reaching the final phase, many participants integrated their moral concerns with religious, cultural, emotional and scientific factors, which show that the patterns of moral concern in the evaluated students act hand in hand with the table of categories proposed for the analysis of this work, since it influences socio-scientific decision-making. The students demonstrate the lack of an argumented discourse that supports their position, a fact that puts into the manifesto the teaching provided by the University and the students of Natural Sciences and Environmental Education

A través del presente trabajo, se pretende fortalecer el concepto de fracción en niños de grado 5°, de la Institución Educativa Presbítero Horacio Gómez Gallo, sede Santa Cecilia del municipio Jamundí. A partir de aportes realizados por algunos autores sobre el tema y el estudio exploratorio realizado, se diseñó un objeto virtual de aprendizaje (OVA) y se implementó el programa Schratch abordando el concepto de fracción. Se aplicaron métodos de recolección de información, como encuestas, test, entre otros. Se observó que la enseñanza del concepto de fracciones es una base para generar conocimiento matemático, por lo tanto se apoyó la propuesta con las orientaciones de los lineamientos curriculares para el área de matemáticas (ministerio de Educación [MEN], 1998); al igual que se utilizó la resolución de problemas como metodología de aprendizaje. Una vez aplicado el OVA se alcanzó mayor comprensión en el concepto de fracción, de igual forma se obtuvieron grandes avances en la argumentación de procedimientos de las situaciones problemas que se le plantearon.
The use of rhymes and songs to develop English speaking skills of special and non-special needs students of third grade at Liceo Bella Suiza School

This paper presents the results of research based on a participatory approach where the use of rhymes and songs, in order to develop English speaking skills in the third grade students of an inclusive classroom (a classroom that includes special and non-special needs students) was evaluated. Data collection was carried out through the following instruments: A descriptive rubric was used to diagnose the population sample speaking skills level and to identify the aspects of oral production where weaknesses are present and on which the didactic unit was based and the intervention focused. During the intervention a field diary was used to record everything that occurred in the observed classes. The analysed data suggests that songs could be useful to improve certain aspects of what a speaking monologue requires, such as vocabulary and pronunciation. However, grammar structures may not improve equally. Rhymes and songs are didactic resources that can be incorporated in different diagnoses and applied to an inclusive classroom with special and non-special needs students.
Aspects qui influencent le développement de la production orale en monologue suivi, niveau b1, des étudiants en 7ème semestre de la licence en langues étrangères de l'université Santiago de Cali

Four objectives will guide this research. These aim to fulfill the main objective of the work, which is to identify the aspects that influence the development of oral production in monologue level b1, of the 7th semester students of the degree in foreign languages of Santiago University from Cali. It is also important to take account with this research, we will find the difficulties in the field of oral expression (monologue followed, level B1) among the pupils in seventh semester. In order to achieve our goals, we followed three data collection instruments. First, non-participatory observations on a sample. These observations will allow us to identify the course flow and the activities carried out and to know the use of the target language and the mother tongue. Second, surveys will be completed by the students in the sample. They aim to extract factors that influence their learning of French either positively or negatively. Finally, we will make a diagnosis (DELF B1), which will allow us to know the real level of the students considering the descriptors proposed by the CEFR. Every student dream of speaking a foreign language well. In the seventh semester, they must have level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Representaciones sociales de rockeros sobre los bares del sector de la calle quinta entre 25 y 26 en Cali

This is a qualitative research that was conducted in the city of Santiago de Cali, more exactly in the rock bars. What is intended with this project is to study the behavior of rockers within their collective at an exact point within this municipality, so the question that best defines this work is: What are the social representations built by rockers about the area? of the street 5 between races 25 and 26 of the city Cali? And accompanied by the general objective that allows a direction to the investigation; Analyze the social representations built by the rockers on the area of 5th Street between races 25 and 26 of the city of Cali. In addition, the specific objectives are a guide and determine 3 the organization; the first is focused on knowing the origins of the bars located in the aforementioned area, the second is to identify the motivations that move rockers to attend those bars and not others and finally describe the social representations built by the rockers on these sites.
