The objective of this research was to implement UDL to improve the English teaching and learning in the fifth grade of “villa de las Palmas” school where there were some children with cognitive disabilities. The methodology used was qualitative, therefore, 3 interviews, 2 surveys, 2 observations and a field diary were done for later design and application of a lesson plan. Also, in the analysis of some questions the quantitative method was used. The interviews were performed with an English teacher, a psychologist, and a graduate in Special Education from the school. The 2 surveys were given to the children of fifth grade, one before the lesson plan and another at the end of the study. The lesson plan was designed with UDL taking into account three styles of learning: visual, auditory and kinesthetic, so activities of these styles were included. The lesson plan was also based on the basic standards of competences in foreign languages: writing, listening, speaking, and reading. The results were positive since the application of lesson plan was successful. The teaching improved because the guidelines of UDL were used in order to give an effective lesson. To support the area of technology and information technology, a didactic sequence was developed for the development of skills and use of ICTs through a Virtual Learning Object (OVA) using tablets. The results obtained with the students are that they are very careful when using these tools and the learning of concepts was assimilated quickly. ICT should be considered as an ally in the teaching-learning process.Item Teacher educators and Evaluation: Considerations upon the relation with pre-service teachers’ performance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Herrera Alarcón, Ana Luizet; Restrepo Badel, Juan Sebastián; Sánchez Salgado, Juan David; Arenas Reyes, Julio CésarThis is a mixed type research since it contains statistical data, interpretations, narrative descriptions, and other quantitative and qualitative characteristics. Item La familia como eje fundamental en la creación de hábitos de higiene en los niños y niñas de cuatro y cinco años del liceo los Guayupines(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Angulo Caicedo, Kelly Xiomara; Escobar Angulo, Yoly Yinella; Mena Rodríguez, Paola Andrea; Pardo Jaramillo, SorayaThis project is focused on the family as a fundamental axis in the creation of hygiene habits, since the family is the first institution where cultural bases, rules, grooming habits, social roles, ethical, moral and religious values are founded. Therefore, when children enter school they carry with them a series of knowledge that is instilled from the family, which are reinforced in the educational field, in order for children to grow and develop holistically. Similarly, an interview was conducted with the teacher of the transition grade, and a survey of the parents of the children immersed in the research, with the purpose of collecting information regarding the purpose of the research. According to the results obtained, it can be deduced that most of the children had knowledge about hygiene habits, given that parents and school encourage these habits, it was also found that some children do not appropriately appropriate the techniques of cleanliness, that is why to promote these self-care routines the pedagogical strategy was carried out: "Take care of our body" which consisted of providing tools to promote personal self-care through recreational activitiesItem Fortalecimiento del pensamiento científico en niños mediante actividades lúdicas(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Yepes Espinosa, Yury Andrea; Moreno Rodríguez, Ivar De Jesús; Gutierrez Avendaño, Carol MildredThe purpose of this research is to strengthen the scientific thinking in students from pre-kindergarten leisure activities. To achieve this was taken as a reference action research which according Tierrablanca (2009); It bases its research on the "scientific thinking skills in young children," admits they are interested in giving explanation to the phenomena occurring around them; what happens in nature. States that children show their curiosity and wonder at the problems, argues that scientific thinking is not exclusive to great inventors on the other hand is an attitude to the world that makes it easier for children to explain the phenomena they observe. The researcher presents arguments to establish that young children develop scientific thinking. First, the ability to ask mentioned; He states that the question is the engine of scientific thinking because there are always questions about the mysteries of nature. Also establishes a relationship between the child's mind and creative mind adult, is a mixture of both as is limitless, as seeks to provide solutions unconventionally, they are ready to go into the unknown. He argues that the creative adult retains characteristics of the child because it does not conform to existing and accepted theories. In this sense any valid explanation given by the child, as he seeks to find an answer to the different situations that arise. This is a great challenge to be assumed by teachers, not to pigeonhole his thought as an adult, or put limits on possible theories arising from their students; In other words, the teacher should also possess creative thinking, to develop successfully since scientific thinking classroom in children. The sample involved in the research are students of two institutions of the private sector in the city of Cali, with a total population of 40 children 5 years old (20 children per institution). For sample selection took into account the intention conforming show groups of 10 students per school. Methodological development consists of three phases: the first known Fortalecimiento del pensamiento científico en niños mediante actividades lúdicas characterization phase, in which we seek to establish the level of scientific thinking of students from the implementation of an instrument used by Orozco Hormaza. B. C, Puche Navarro. R. (2003, p 23) which referred to "the status of the lamp"; the second phase called strengthening seeks from the contextualization made in the first phase to establish strategies and recreational activities to strengthen scientific thinking. To do four hours a week interventions were carried out for a period of three months; the last phase called evaluation seeks to determine the level of development of scientific thought that students achieved, for which takes into account the test applied in the characterization phase collecting information for later analysis. In conclusion of this paper grade it is emphasized that recreational activities are a strategy that gives students the tools to strengthen scientific thinking. It should be noted that leisure activities alone do not guarantee the development of the scientific thought in children, should take into account external factors to become an effective strategy, such as mastery of the teacher in the area of knowledge in which he works; appropriate learning environments so that the student participates in the process feel you are living and not Cohíba at the time to express their ideas; good management of pedagogical and didactic component that allows teachers to determine the appropriate time to generate the cognitive stimuli that make the student active in the process; a constant reflection by teachers of their work in the classroom, so you can improve teaching and learning processes that are carried from the interaction with studentsItem Analyse d’erreurs des apprenants de la licence en langues étrangeres de l’université Santiago de Cali aux niveaux élémentaire et intermédiaire de français : Les adjectifs possessifs(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Cortez Loaiza, Hanny Natalia; Montenegro Palacios, Hector Lubian; Espinosa González, Lina MaríaThis research presents an error analysis of Colombian students who study French as Foreign Language (FLE).
