Item Efectos del cardio-hiit (ejercicio de intervalos de alta intensidad) en los parámetros ántropométricos y cardiovasculares de las personas con sobrepeso y obesidad.(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Caicedo Herrera, Samantha; Girón Tello, María Juliana; Ortíz Guerrero, Yuri Dayana; Arroyo, Luz Dary ( Asesora)HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is a workout method involving short bursts of high-intensity exercise alternated with rest periods. Depending on the stimulus, it can produce neuromuscular or metabolic adaptations. Evidence suggests it improves body composition in overweight or obese individuals and helps prevent cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to analyze recent literature on HIIT effects in this population. Databases such as Science Direct, Google Scholar, Medline, Scopus, Scielo, and ResearchGate were reviewed for studies published between 2016 and 2021. Thirteen articles met the inclusion criteria. Findings showed improvements in VO₂max and systolic blood pressure with at least 2 sessions per week, while changes in anthropometric variables require at least 12 weeks of training with 3 weekly sessions.
