Un estudio de caso(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Aguilera Urrea, Luz Helena; Tamayo, Paula Andrea (Directora); Torrealba, Ruth Dayana (Asesora)This article describes the artistic experiences of the laboratory of artistic inclusion in plastic arts of Bellas Artes - Institución Universitaria del Valle, in association with the Psychology program of the Santiago de Cali University (USC) in which a 21-year-old young man with a cognitive functional diversity presenting symptoms of social withdrawal. Based on qualitative research, the single case study methodology allows an in-depth description of the fundamental aspects of their behaviors and how, through artistic mediation, the conditions are created for this young participant to overcome social withdrawal. The artistic tasks used during 6 sessions are analyzed based on three types of adaptive results: socioemotional achievements, social inclusion achievements and artistic achievements. According to Rubín (2019) these adaptive results can inform about the social withdrawal of children and adolescents. In this way, it is concluded that artistic mediations allow the person with functional diversity to develop a greater knowledge of themselves and their environment, stimulate their curiosity, promote communication and inclusion at a social level. In addition, participating in a group project can decrease feelings of isolation and give the person a sense of belonging to a community.
