Accurate diagnosis is crucial to prevent erroneous treatment that exacerbates complications, as it has been identified that health and education professionals face challenges related to variability in symptoms, coexistence with other disorders, and the influence of contextual and environmental factors. Currently, diagnostic tools present limitations and there is a need for more specific criteria for its recognition in the school environment. The aim was to analyze the difficulties associated with the accurate diagnosis of ADHD in school children, through a narrative review of the existing literature in databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect and web of science. The findings showed that factors linked to: perceptions and lack of knowledge about the disease; lack of validity of diagnostic instruments; discrepancies in the results within the evaluation processes; symptoms similar to other disorders; lack of experience of the professional and deficiency in the provision of health and mental health services, were the cause of difficulties for accurate diagnosis. It is concluded that the aforementioned causal factors generate difficulties associated with clinical malpractice and deterioration of global functioning, making it necessary to promote and strengthen psychoeducational strategies to minimize the lack of knowledge that increases the associated difficulties and exclusion.Item Las mediaciones artísticas como propulsor de la salud mental de personas con discapacidad. Vulnerability, understood as the context in which the human being does not have access to his fundamental rights in a satisfactory way, influences the development of intelligence, thus generating an interest in the visualization of this factor in students from 8 to 10 years old in selected institutions of the municipality of Cali. Considering all this, the objective of the research is to identify the existence of a relationship between vulnerability and intelligence in children from 8 to 10 years old from vulnerable educational institutions in the municipality of Cali. To accomplish this, a descriptive and quantitative cross-sectional design was carried out. It involved 92 students belonging to the vulnerable institution Manuela Beltrán and the non-vulnerable institution Lancaster Bilingüe School. The K-bit test was used to measure the variables of crystallized and fluid intelligence and IQ. These variables are evaluated in the following categories: very low, low, medium low, medium, medium high, high and very high. The K-Bit test revealed results with notable differences between the intelligence of students in the non-vulnerable institution and the vulnerable institution. Artistic mediations represent a community-based strategy to facilitate the inclusion of individuals with cognitive disabilities. The Fine Arts Inclusion Labs at Bellas Artes Institución Universitaria del Valle provide a space that fosters the inclusion of these individuals through the use of artistic mediation as a means to strengthen social bonds and promote community self-care. In the field of community psychology, these strategies are of great interest, as their recognition could contribute to the future development of a community-based primary mental health care model with a differential approach for people with disabilities. However, the expectations that caregivers place on these strategies are concerning. With the aim of identifying caregivers' expectations regarding the development of social skills in individuals with cognitive disabilities participating in artistic mediation activities, a qualitative study with a social-community approach was conducted. The study used a case study method and included a sample of five caregivers of individuals with cognitive disabilities who gave their consent for the realization and publication of this study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted for data production, which were recorded and transcribed. Data analysis was conducted inductively based on the narratives generated in the interviews. The results indicated that caregivers' expectations can be both realistic and unrealistic. Caregivers base their realistic expectations on evidence that artistic mediations help the individuals under their care manage their emotions, improve communication and share inclusive spaces. Unrealistic expectations are related to the hope that individuals with severe and profound cognitive disabilities will achieve independent living.Item Funcionalidad familiar en cuidadores de personas con discapacidad que asisiten a laboratorios de inclusión artística(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Chacón Zea, Laura Natalia; Maldonado Losada, Valentina; Tamayo, Paula Andrea (Directora)Item Dependencia emocional en relaciones de pareja en estudiantes de psicología de últimos semestres de la universidad Santiago de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Rojas Satizabal, Daniela; Mora Jiménez, Abraham (Director)Within this document it is intended to carry out a research work that has as its central axis the processes of emotional dependence, which may be present in the relationships of the students in the last semesters of the Psychology program at the Santiago de Cali University.
