The COL1A1 gene encodes an essential protein in connective tissues, which, when presenting a polymorphism, is associated with musculoskeletal injuries. For its part, the interleukin 6 (IL6) gene is known as a pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory regulator, and it has been reported that some polymorphisms such as interleukin-6 (IL6)-174C/G and IL-6 174G/C (rs1800795) have been linked to a greater predisposition to fractures and osteoporosis in postmenopausal women respectively. These alterations, in turn, are associated with a decrease in physical abilities, leading to a progressive loss of functionality and quality of life of the elderlyItem Baterias de medición de condición física en los diversos grupos poblacionales. revisión bibliográfica 2010-2018(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) López Mayor, Maira Alejandra; Paz Quesada, Mely Jhoana; Valencia Sánchez, Katerine; Peña Hernández, Paula AndreaThis study is based on a documentary descriptive research, with a hermeneutic method of qualitative approach. The sample consisted of 50 articles extracted from indexed databases that provided information about the batteries of physical condition in different population groups. Its design was not experimental and as techniques a tracking analysis matrix was used that allowed to make an understanding of the literature in a systematized manner. In the results it was found that the batteries are not their own if they are made up of different tests and measurements that are used together to measure the qualities that compose it. During the investigation it was possible to collect a number of batteries that evaluate the physical condition, but it was found that there is a limitation to obtain relevant information such as the target population, tests or tests, and information about the psychometric properties to determine the validity and reliability. Therefore, it is recommended to conduct physical condition characterization studies, since the results may be useful to establish programs aimed at improving it for population groups. A, Luz StellaThe Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) is defined as a pathological process that leads to a neurological deficit producing alterations of the motor, sensitive and autonomous function, with long-term effects that persist for a lifetime. In people with this injury, the quality of life and the degree of disability is quite prevalent because its functionality and independence are compromised on various activities that used to be done autonomously. The objective of this research is to determine the Quality of Life and the grade of Disability of a group of athletes with Spinal Cord Injury belonging to the individual sports of the Valle Selection in 2018. The present investigation is a descriptive cross-sectional study, which it will allow to detail the information that is obtained in a single moment and without following up, collecting the data in a natural way with a quantitative approach. There was the participation of 25 people, with a diagnosis of chronic spinal cord injury, of legal age, of both sexes, who belonged to the valley league of limited physicists. The following assessment instruments were used: the health-related quality of life questionnaire SF - 12, and SCI - DAS (Spinal Cord lnjury – Disability Assessment Scale) for the degree of disability. It is concluded that the instruments used during the investigation allowed to reach the proposed objectives for the study, noting that the majority of athletes with chronic spinal cord injury present a good quality of life which is not subject to both their physical health condition and their pathology, but yes to mental health, to the emotional and social role. Regarding the degree of disability, it is evident that most of the athletes have a slight disability, which indicates that these people can achieve their functional independence with the passage of time according to the conditions in which they find themselves to succeed, overcoming obstacles and facing different situations with a positive attitude towards life and taking sports as a tool for rehabilitation and social inclusion.Item “Cambios temporo-espaciales de la marcha en pacientes con parkinson tras la intervención fisioterapéutica según estudios realizados en el periodo 2014 – 2020.”(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Montes Estupiñan, Diana Carolina; Trujillo Villamizar, Yenni Paola; Escobar Cortes, Leda Jailin; Perafán Gonzales, Diana YazmínThis study is based on a qualitative research approach.
