Item La cadena de suministro en el sector alimentos en Colombia(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Suárez Jaramillo, René AlbertoFor a long time it has been thought that logistics is part of the supply chain, understanding that this is the generation and organization of movements within the daily operation, which is part of the supply chain, which plans, implements and controls the efficiency of two-way flows back and forth, between a point of origin and consumption in a client, in order to meet the requirements of it. Logistics seeks to interact with the other elements of the chain among themselves, thus generating a greater value proposition to customers, as well as the efficiency and maximization of the company's resources; The processes of the supply chain in the food sector in Colombia are the basis for the execution of a good strategy of the organization, generating competitiveness and improving the processes. Companies are discovering that the increasing complexity of supply chains has an important consequence, these processes are generally four and are composed in the following way. Supply, understanding that this process corresponds to the company's strategy in terms of an inventory management model correlated with the sales projection. Storage and Picking corresponds to the second process and leads to everything related to wineries and picking models in terms of optimizing costs and the best way to have inventory stocks. Distribution would be the third process in the supply chain, responsible for the delivery of goods to the final customer, where this can be through a customer spraying, last mile strategy or simply having a third party company specialized in this work. The fourth process is the reverse logistics that for a decade has taken more force in the supply chain, because it collects the most information from the client and has as an improvement model having the customer service system integrated with this process. The supply chain will not always be executed in the same way, this depends on the type of company and its sector, in this way it is the complexity and management of the entire supply chain for the food sector in Colombia
