Item Evaluación del nivel de centralización para el manejo de aguas residuales en el municipio de Jamundí utilizando el software SIRETA(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Valencia Álvarez, Esteban; Bernal Suárez, Diana PaolaDue to the deficit in basic sanitation that directly affects the quality of water sources and increases the risk to public health around the world, it is necessary to evaluate the wastewater planning, and it is necessary to recognize that there are different strategies associated with its management at the urban level, among them is the decentralization of wastewater treatment systems which presents some advantages associated with investment costs, planning by stages and reduction in the impact on the receiving body by distribute discharges. This work evaluates the level of centralization in wastewater management in municipality of Jamundí, Colombia, using the SIRETA software, whose model is based on a multi-criteria analysis, in which the technological, environmental, social and institutional criteria that influence the implementation of an urban wastewater management system and also considers a cost-benefit analysis in which aspects such as savings due to compensation rates; reuse potential, impact on the Dissolved Oxygen concentration on the receiving body, are taken into account. The study proposed four scenarios (Centralized without reuse, semi-centralized without reuse, centralized with reuse and semi-centralized with reuse) the most relevant options were the semi-centralized scenarios, which considers maintain the operation of the current sewers and wastewater plants and using the centralized wastewater system for existing urban area including the future expansion areas, warranting the coverage in collecting and treatment
