Item Análisis del impacto del modelo ABC en empresas latinoamericanas(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Diaz Alvarez, Santiago Andres; Campo Mazorra, José Luis (Director)This article examines the impact of the ABC classification model on Latin American businesses and explores how its implementation has contributed to supply chain optimization across industries over the past eight years. Using qualitative methods, real-life case studies are examined to understand the implementation process, initial challenges, and approaches to integrating the ABC model into inventory management. The study explores how the ABC model can help companies prioritize key products and resources, improving efficiency in key areas such as inventory turns, logistics planning and cost control. In addition, this paper explores the adaptability of the model in different industrial environments and its potential impact on customer satisfaction and corporate competitiveness. This review includes comparative charts and graphs illustrating general trends and patterns, providing a comprehensive understanding of t he utility of the ABC model in strategic decision-making in the Latin American context. The analysis provides insight into the limitations of the ABC model with its strengths, laying a solid foundation for future application by companies looking to optimize inventory processes and improve responsiveness to market demand.Item Mejora en el área de clientes nuevos para la distribución de proceso picking en una empresa logística de Cali Valle(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) García Moreno, Jose Luis; Rengifo Ruiz, Joiner Francisco; Arboleda Hurtado, Eddy Santiago; Cortes Vásquez, Mónica Andrea (Directora)The applied research article aims to design improvements in the "New Clients" process, in which the product of the recognition of the difficulties observed mainly in the administrative activities and operational management of the company under study. The research methodology is a mixed approach using the survey technique for convenience, the results allowed to diagnose the current state of the company and compare it against the literature obtained from robust scientific sources such as Scopus, ScienceDirect and academic Gooogle, from which analyzed information about issues associated with the classification and order of stored products. As a result, it was possible to define the entry and exit profile of each product, as well as the standardization of its location in the storage area.Item Modelo de planeación de la demanda para pequeños distribuidores de bebidas alcohólicas: caso aplicado en 'Distribuidora & Licores Los Paisas' en Candelaria, Valle del Cauca(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Serna Mendieta, Carlos Adrián; Cabrera Ovalle, Juan Manuel (Director)Demand planning is a critical factor in improving inventory management and decision-making in high-turnover environments such as the liquor distribution sector, to which the company Distribuidora & Licores Los Paisas belongs. The organization faces challenges related to stockouts and oversupplies due to the absence of a structured approach in planning its demand. The general objective of the research is to present a proposal for a demand planning model that allows improving inventory management through the application of statistical forecasting techniques and ABC classification. The methodology used included four main stages: (1) analysis of the current demand planning practices in the company, (2) classification of the products according to the ABC method, (3) modeling of forecasts using different statistical techniques such as exponential smoothing, moving average and linear trend, and (4) proposal of a demand planning model based on the results obtained. The findings indicate that the company did not have a formal methodology for demand forecasting and that the ABC classification allowed the identification of the most critical products, confirming that 20% of the items generate 80% of sales. The statistical models selected according to the lowest MAPE proved to be effective in improving the accuracy of demand predictions. It is concluded that the implementation of the proposed demand planning model will allow the company to reduce variability in inventory, optimize working capital and improve the availability of key products. This article highlights the importance of efficient inventory management in companies in the hardware sector and explores how the ABC classification has become an effective methodology to improve this management. The challenges faced by hardware stores in managing their inventories are discussed and the case of Ferretería la H, which faces difficulties due to the large number of items it handles, is presented. Multiple inventory management models are reviewed and the effectiveness of ABC classification is emphasized to identify critical products and prioritize their control. It is highlighted that the application of this methodology has demonstrated positive results in terms of profitability and optimization of product distribution in storage. The methodology proposed for this study involves Juan Camilo Grisales, Kelly Gutiérrez, Sebastián Panesso. 2 descriptive and explanatory research, using an inductive-deductive approach and mixed data collection techniques, including surveys and interviews. The data collection process is detailed, as well as the ABC classification and the resulting strategies to improve inventory management. Finally, inventory improvement is an effective tool for developing inventory management strategies and recommendations are provided for a successful proposal in a company in the hardware sector.Item Propuesta de sistema de gestión de inventarios para producto terminado en la microempresa Bloques y Pisos(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) González Ocampo, Carlos Andrés; Sánchez Moriones, Santiago; Martínez Escobar, Nathaly (Directora)Inventory control is one of the important issues within the companies, covering the logistics, the planning and management of the supply chain. The root causes behind the need for the maintenance of inventories in any company are the random fluctuations of the demand, on the other hand the management of warehouses and inventories acquired an enormous importance within the logistics network, to involve key decisions that largely determine the structure of costs, the reduction of these costs of storage, generates reductions in the final cost of the well, resulting in benefits for the company and for customers. This document is focused on the proposal of a management system of inventory in the finished product of the micro-Blocks and the floor, which is dedicated to the production of articles in concrete construction and finishing. In the micro-enterprises, we identified a series of problems focused on the loss of sales, lack of systematization of records and non-compliance of orders due to a lack of availability of products, for this reason it was of great interest to the implementation of an inventory control system that would mitigate all of these problems presented above. The proposed methodology consisted of five stages. In the first stage was the diagram SIPOC with the aim of knowing in detail and to structure the process, starting from the order until the dispatch. The second stage established the classification of products according to the volume of sales generated by each article over 3.5 years. The third stage consisted in identifying the types and patterns of demand, required to establish the prediction models that were developed in the fourth stage. Finally, we defined the revision policy for the goods. The proposal improves the situation of stockout of the products required and improves the availability of space for the same, supporting the decision making in the information given by the system developed.Item Propuesta de un método de control de inventarios en una comercializadora y distribuidora en el municipio de Guachené Cauca(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Chara Carabali, Derlin Eliana; García Delgado, Raúl Alberto (Director)In the present article is presented a proposal about an inventory control method for trading companies and grain distributors and groceries. It began with the development of a diagnosis of the inventory control in this type of business, later were determined the most important products of ABC classification, ordered by contribution margins, and finally was chosen a method of control based on the products of greater contribution in sales, that is to say the items class A. For the development of this work, we took as a guide some articles such as "Design of an inventory management model for the wine and spirits importer company Global Wine and Spirits LTDA "Universidad Javeriana. Bogotá, Colombia, GONZÁLEZ, (2010) and of "Inventory management in an automobile parts company" Lemus, (2015).Item Propuesta de un sistema de control de inventarios en la línea poliéster 3 de la empresa Eka Corporación(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Grisales Loaiza, Mayiber; Rios Perea, Katherine; Masso Alzate, John Alexander (Director)This proposed article contains the development of an inventory management model, which leads to improved levels of the polyester line 3 Auto (Closures) of the company Eka Corporatión. According to an analysis performed on the process, it can be shown that there is no quantitative method to forecast the demand of the items on the line. The company has been presenting problems such as: about some items, exhausted ítems and long delivery time of other items, due to the lack of inventories, which leads to urgent orders to meet customers' needs on a permanent basis. As a starting point for improvement is updated the historical demand of the previous 12 months analyzed for polyester items 3, an ABC classification of the 3,649 items is performed to determine the level of importance and reclassification AA of the 231 items, super important, then proceeded to analyze the coefficient of variation, the demand pattern and the forecast models , to subsequently follow up minimally every 3 days for a quarterly period, to have control of the items with greater rotation and maintain the optimal level of inventory for satisfaction as demand requires. The proposal made it possible to determine for AA items, how often to review inventory, how much to order, and when to order. As textile companies did, it achieved positive results, ABC analysis for assets and forecasting.
