Item Identificación de agentes fitopatógenos causantes de la Pudrición en colocasia esculenta (papa china)) cultivada en el pacífico colombiano y una aproximación a su control(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Valencia Pineda, Jamileth; Rodríguez Castillo, Nohra; Caicedo Bejarano, Luz Dary (Directoras)Colocasia esculenta, known as Chinese potato or taro, is a very important product for the Colombian Pacific and is threatened by corm rot, affecting the food security of Afro-descendant and indigenous communities. This study sought to identify in vitro some of the phytopathogenic agents responsible for this rot and the control was explored using an aqueous extract of Dysphania ambrosioides (paico). Two responsible fungi (Fusarium solani and Mycoleptodiscus sp) were identified through morphological and sequence analyzes with the NCBI, and their role as causal agents of greenhouse rot was confirmed. Paico proved to be effective in controlling its growth at concentrations of 12.5% and 17.5%. for Mycoleptodiscus and 17.5% for F. solani. These findings underline the importance of organic control for food security and sustainable production in vulnerable areas of Colombia, highlighting the relevance of this study for local communities.
