The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Colombia, through the care guide for gender violence, seeks to strengthen actions that guarantee convenient institutional responses which contribute to the recovery of integrity, dignity and autonomy of the victims; attending their needs according to their particular characteristics in order to reduce the psychological impact from gender violence that has damaged their rights. In that sense, comprehensive care leads to respect and guarantee the rights recognized in Law 1257 of 2008 and Law 1719 of 2014. These rights are mandatory for justice and government officers, police forces as well as for health care practitioners. This work aims to identify if a primary care Centre in the city of Cali, accomplishes the medical care of victims of gender violence.
