Item Migrantes internos universitarios: desafíos y oportunidades en la USC(2024) Caicedo Ramírez, Alisson Dahyana; Pulido Sevillano, Andrea; Marín Arroyave, Ana MilenaThis article explores the academic and psychosocial adaptation mechanisms of internal migrant students in the Social Work program at the University of Santiago de Cali. The methodology employed is based on Grounded Theory, with qualitative data collection through a semi-structured online questionnaire. The data coding was conducted in three phases (open, axial, and selective), which allowed for the identification of patterns in the experiences of these students. The findings point to problematic factors that limit the academic performance and psychosocial development of internal migrant students, such as social, cultural, and economic barriers. Additionally, the coping and resilience strategies that these students employ in their adaptive process in higher education are highlighted. Ultimately, the study emphasizes the need for effective inclusive policies that promote a more inclusive university culture and suggests recommendations for the academic, professional, personal, and social development of internal migrant students, proposing a comprehensive strategy for monitoring inclusive policies in favor of their well-being and success at the university.
