This document presents a comprehensive study on optimizing the secondary packaging process in the pharmaceutical copacking industry. The main objective is to identify and mitigate bottlenecks and areas of inefficiency to increase the installed production capacity. Using a methodological approach based on simulation through FlexSim software, the secondary packaging processes of three pharmaceutical products are meticulously analyzed. The simulations are validated against the conceptual model and real operations to ensure accuracy in predicting improvements. The study's conclusions reveal critical areas requiring interventions, such as blister control and acceptance and storage. Proposed improvements include process optimization through automation, redistribution of tasks among operators, and increased storage capacity. These enhancements are projected to significantly increase productivity and efficiency in the secondary packaging system, reflected in an increase in installed capacity from 40.75% to 81.5%.
