Where it is achieved with the implementation of these tools the mitigation of lost time and the reduction of high costs, obtaining control of all the variables that generate no value and contribute to their competitiveness in terms of processes and quality of products or services. This article aims to publicize the different tools that are part of the Lean methodology and which are the most used in the manufacturing industry and in the services sector, in addition to this it is placed in context that is Lean Manufacturing and what benefits to taken these implementations internationally, nationally and in the service sector.Item Impactos de los Sistemas de Gestión Ambiental ISO 14001:2015 en el sector industrial(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Herrera Osorio, Edwin Alberto; Rodríguez Murillo, Jenny Milena; Guerrero Moreno, David Rodrigo (Director)The purpose of this review article is to know how The Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015 have generated an impact when implemented, analyzing the main motivations, impacts, environmental risks to mitigate, benefits and results, in the industries that adopt this standard to its production and commercialization processes, the Environmental Management System aims to serve the support for the prevention of environmental pollution, protect the environment and environmental performance, in balance with the three pillars of sustainable development, in addition to helping companies optimize resources to after taking advantage of inputs, supporting the creation of environmental awareness within organizations and generating sustainable production processes. This document is constructed with thirty articles of review and research articles published in the database of the Santiago de Cali University, where the different motivations that led a group of industries (services, distribution and trade, material energy and electrical equipment, metallurgy and steel, paper, meat, manufacturing, chemical and mechanical industry, agriculture and pharmaceutical industry) to implement an Environmental Management System were made known, some motivations that drive the implementation of the norm in organizations, such as political, ethical, economic, commercial, competitive, innovation, final disposal of waste, among others. This review article also addresses the impacts, risks, results and benefits that come with the implementation of the ISO 14001:2015 standard, through the experience documented in other articles related to this topic. In the impacts of the industries (sugar, cement plant, health, transportation, coal) reviewed, it was possible to identify the discharge of wastewater, solid waste, water and energy consumption, air pollution and within the risks reference is made to the damage of human health, decrease of resources, damages to the flora and fauna, climate change and global warming. Publicizing also the results and benefits of the implementation of an Environmental Management System.Item Factores claves de éxito del uso de la metodología Kaizen en el sector manufacturero Latinoamericano(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Landazuri Casanova, Evair; Serna Rivera, Michel; Ospina Ocampo, Javier Mauricio; Ramírez Guespú, Julián Andrés (Director)Lean Manufacturing has become one of the most effective tools for companies to carry out a process of continuous improvement through the systematization of their activities where they seek to eliminate those activities that do not add any value to the productivity and competitiveness of Organizations seeking to minimize waste, costs and time under the premise that everything can be done better. This article aims to determine the success factors of using Lean Manufacturing through the implementation of the Kaizen method in Latin American manufacturing companies. For this, a descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach was carried out through the literature review of articles that addressed the subject under study in the last decade. Among the main findings, it was found that the implementation of the Kaizen methodology in Latin American manufacturing companies is due to success factors related to the work team, the effectiveness in implementing the method, incentives, training and commitment of company directives. As some of the main inhibitors of the implementation were resistance to change, the mismatch of operations to the value chain of the company and the limited empowerment of employees that weakens effective communication between members.Item Articulo modelo de costos estándar aplicado a la producción de estibas en la empresa Cooperativa de Trabajo Asociado Mundo Maderas(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Zapata López, Álvaro José; García Jiménez, Juan Camilo (Director)Below is the design of a standard cost model for the Mundo Maderas Associated Labor Cooperative, this in order to provide the organization with an effective tool to make decisions, set prices and direct its administrative management. To achieve this objective, a brief description of the company is presented, in order to establish the way in which its operation and organizational style have been given; Likewise, aspects of its size are exposed, and the way in which it is characterized within the market. Adding to this, the stages of its production process are presented, to then detail the standard cost model, carried out under the Visual Basic for Applications tool, or Excel VBA, being available to interested personnel. In the same way, the good use of physical resources within the operative part generates not only a concern in relation to costs, but also to generate clean and friendly processes with the environment. This project is a Proposed Preventive Maintenance Program based on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), for part of the truck tract fleet of the company Transportes al Mundo SAS, which is proposed as a strategic method standardized, to minimize repair costs and increase productivity. For the development of this investigation, the evaluation of the problems of the maintenance area is proposed, considering the cost, the practicality and the elimination of the dead times, in order to improve in a fast and precise way this area of the company, followed by this, it is proposed to compare and validate information before the company. The vehicles are part of a chain or production line and must be in the best state to comply with the contracts established by the company to generate confidence before its customers. These negative shifts have directly affected the user because they feel that the times have increased and it has generated a non-conformity in the service to the point where they are abandoning the system, or in the worst of cases, going to the entities that govern EPS and/or taking legal actions against the company. Consequently the queue systems that are in charge of the authorization rooms has been taken as the object of study in order the obtain the behavior of these and achieve improvements, raise awareness of the servers (integral attention executives) that it’s possible to increase the perception of service though the diminishing of times, and of course, satisfying the needs of the users in the shortest amount of time as possible. Through this, the investigation becomes relevant in finding theses errors or internal needs that can unveil why there are excessive waiting times and therefore give way to finding more precise alternatives in solving the problem through queueing theory and increasing the productivity and satisfaction of the users.Item Implementación de la metodología SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die) para la reducción del tiempo de setup en una línea de producción de la empresa Aptar Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Cañas Chaves, Rubén Darío; Betancur Barrera, Yadiri; Rojas Trejos, Carlos Alberto (Director)This article presents the increase of availability time in a production line through the use of the SMED tool (Single Minute Exchange of Die), a technique belonging to Lean Manufacturing, which has been widely used over time by companies with In order to solve problems through continuous improvement, following this order of ideas, the main objective of this case study is the need for the application of the SMED method to the productive line gs of the company APTAR of Cali that is dedicated to the manufacture of dispensing solutions (container extraction pumps), which by analyzing the data collected, was identified as the most critical line in comparison with the others, due to the fact that its availability index is below the goal established by the company , an index that should be around 70% and whose average in the last 3 months does not exceed 53%. In the article we detail the steps of how this technique was applied to the gs line, also how it affects positively the global productivity indexes, eliminating, converting and improving if possible the activities that make up the production process of the gs line , applying the Scamper method to each of them, decreasing routes, digitizing formats, improving working conditions, modifying the order of how activities are executed, among others, achieving a significant reduction of SETUP time by 52%, increasing Direct way the availability of the machine and reducing production costs.Item Disminución de los tiempos de alistamiento aplicando SMED en el proceso de empaque tipo plegadizas en una empresa de artes gráficas(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Ortiz Sandoval, Yeny del Carmen; Collazos Chaparro, María Fernanda; Masso Alzate, John Alexander (Director)Applied research that analyzes the inactivity time in the machines operation, during the manufacturing process of folding type packaging, in a graphic arts company located in the municipality of Yumbo and whose most important customers are food industry, personal hygiene and pharmacist multinationals. Therefore once it is detected that 80% of this unproductivity corresponds to the transition time between the production of one lot and the next; it is proposed to reduce these times, which will be called "enlistment times" by applying the SMED tool, which consists in converting the internal processes (activities that must be carried out when the machinery is not in operation), to external processes that concern all the operations executed with the machinery in operation, this with the idea of reducing the times of enlistment. The processes in which the tool was applied were: (1) printing, (2) die cutting and (3) gluing, resulting in 30% average efficiency, in 1.03 months of execution, equivalent in Colombian pesos to an approximate saving of $ 72.272.000, being an economically viable and profitable project for the company.Item Propuesta de estandarización de los procesos de plegado y ensamble de parales y carteras para una empresa metalmecánica en la ciudad de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Márquez López, Lina Marcela; Masso Alzate, John Alexander (Director)This work presents the purpose of standardizing the folding and assembly processes of parales and portfolios for a metal-mechanic company in the city of Cali, based on a characterization of the current situation, which allows identifying opportunities for improvement in processes and finally designing the process manual for a metalworking company. The methodological aspects present a descriptive type of investigation which allows to identify, analyze and expose the most relevant characteristics of the reality of the process, identifying the problems related to the production times and its waste, the steps of the construction process and its due execution by of the operator, the supply, the delivery times, and generally with the production planning processes, in the same way a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) will be used, since the study contains statistical aspects, characteristics and qualities of the factors evaluated, based on techniques for collecting documentary information, observation and evaluation of data on the identified processes. Based on the above it was found that currently, the folding and assembly process that to date have not been standardized, this requires generating a series of strategies tending to determine the opportunities presented by the production times from a manual of processes that allow to effectively and efficiently improve production within this organization.Item Comparación de las metodologías cascada y ágil para el aumento de la productividad en el desarrollo de software(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) González González, Fabián; Calero Castañeda, Sandra Liliana; Loaiza Buitrago, Diego Fernando (Director)This article presents a theoretical review, based on a descriptive approach, on two models used in software engineering, which serve as tools to improve organizational processes. Such models are: cascade or traditional and the agile model. Methodologically, a review of academic articles was carried out along with some books and publications, both in English and in Spanish, which address issues related to the management of such models for software development. The results obtained are presented in five chapters, which address three specific objectives: to know the history of the models and their main characteristics; know the techniques used in each of the mentioned models; identify the success you have had when implementing software in each of the models; A comparison is also made in order to determine the efficiency of the models, their limits and advantages. The results show that the way to evaluate determines the quality of the software.Item Perfiles de cargo y manual de funciones en la unidad financiera de la empresa FONDECOM(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Castillo Sinisterra, Francisco Eladio; García Muñoz, Jorge Alexander; Flórez González, Sandra Viviana (Directora)This document describes a study carried out to design the job profiles and functions manual in the financial unit of FONDECOM company, this study begins with a description of the actions realized in human talent area, finding that the organization has already established a compensation, welfare and training strategy. In addition, it has a functional structure with grouping by activities that facilitates its cost management and its monitoring and control system. However, it was established that the lack of knowledge of the responsibilities of employees reflects the need to have a manual of functions that guide their work to avoid conflicts between co-workers. In the same way the middle managers have difficulties to work in a team, because they are not taken in count in the results evaluation meetings, so there is a lack of motivation that needs to be resolved. Through a proposal that allows to reduce the error margin at the time of separating the products and an improvement in the process of order picking, because the company had a total of 624 orders rejected from January 2018 to May 2018, the number of rejected order represented a total of $ 30.504.570 in just 5 months, within the main rejection reasons are: incomplete quantities, expired products, changed references, products with breakdowns and error of loading and transport , resulting in loss of credibility and the loss of 60 clients who decided not to continue their business relationship. To solve this problem, a review of tools and methods were made, like: pick to light, voice picking, ABC classification, Cross Docking, multicriteria analysis, among others were reviewed, which could be a good alternative to achieve the expected results in the improvement of the process. The development of the proposal began with an analysis of the current process in order to be able to do a case study of methods and times, which allowed finding flaws and opportunities for improvements in the process. The proposal allowed to give a solution to different situations that the company went through, redesigning the distribution of the products, an ABC classification of the products according to the movements or sales they present, the reduction of time in the picking process, an improvement of the process and safety for the operators that carry out the picking process day by day. Its implementation had as a methodological orientation the mixed research method, by integrating quantitative and qualitative elements; evidencing, likewise, in the techniques of information gathering, attending the survey and the interview, respectively. The satisfaction of customer needs is the raison d'être of any organization, this precept, applied to the company studied refers to consider the importance of advancing a study that would identify the critical factors that are influencing long waiting times in customer service. client, as well as outline mitigation alternatives. In the documentation of processes and procedures it is very important to specify who, how, when, where and for what to carry them out. Regarding the management of human talent, it is worth mentioning that this process has a network of antecedents that account for the relationship between administrative thinking and the history of societies. Managing human talent means considering the collaborators of the organizations as the central axis of their work and as revitalizing the evolution of the organization at all levels. The study's findings allowed to identify opportunities for process improvement, mainly related to their socialization and a necessary definition of control and monitoring points, as well as in the management of their risks. Consequently, an improvement plan was developed, oriented to the critical activities that were evidenced and whose approach depends largely on the effectiveness of the process.Item Comparativo Estándar OSHAS 18001:2007 e ISO 45001:2018(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Montaño Hurtado, Riquermen; Ramos Hurtado, Neider Javier; García Jiménez, Juan Camilo (Director)In the close relationship between health and work risks and occupational diseases are born, due to the exposure of employees to inadequate working conditions, which cause serious injuries and in the worst case death. For the treatment of this problem, several approaches have been developed throughout history, including Health and Safety at Work, a multidisciplinary approach from which the Occupational Health and Safety Management System emerges. Starting from a bibliographic review, this article shows the differences between the most important regulations of health and safety management at work; the OHSAS 18001: 2007 and ISO 45001: 2018 standard; The objective of both is to reduce risks, eliminate hazards and improve health and safety conditions in organizations, through safe and healthy workplaces. Once the information has been analyzed, it is evident that even when the regulations present notable differences (clauses, risk management, interested parties, among others), organizations certified under OHSAS 18001: 2007 have a “solid platform” to migrate to ISO 45001: 2018. The great challenge of migration is to achieve over the next 3 years a change in employee safety culture, structural change of the organization (active and committed participation of all interested parties) and the usefulness and implementation of the standard for any organization that requires it.Item Diseño de rutas con VRP solver 3.0: caso de una empresa transportadora de mercancía(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Carabali Ararat, Hader Junior Mauricio; Pineda Zapata, Uriel (Director)This article is focused on solving the problem of merchandise damming in a company dedicated to the delivery of parcels, located in Valle del Cauca, Colombia, from the optimization of the logistics process that allows to reduce the times of the delivery process to the customers and avoid losses for the company. The main objective of the research was to generate suitable routes that would allow timely deliveries for customers. In order to carry out this research, the VRP Solver 3.0 simulation program was used, which has undergone great expansion in recent years for the solution of this type of problem. With the design of the routes it would be possible to increase the level of service between 38% and 50%, this would increase the income for the company and reduce the level of damming of the same.Item Aplicación de la metodología Lean Six Sigma para mejoramiento continuo en procesos de una empresa de servicio(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Luna Sotelo, Fernando; Lozano Herrera, Carlos Andrés; Guerrero Moreno, David Rodrigo (Director)This article deals with the continuous improvement of the document custody process through the Lean Six Sigma methodology in a service delivery company, the work was done with the aim of reducing the current operating cost of the process. The development was done through the DMAIC roadmap methodology that allowed to identify, improve and control the critical independent variables that affected the current cost and define mechanisms that will maintain the solution over time. During the development, it was possible to identify the lack of governance and control during the entire flow of documents derived from the processes of linking and service provision, lack of standards in the document purification where we apply the concept of added value and absence of policies for the proper management of information of the associate since at the end of 2017 had a record of 244,422 active associates and 558,765 files of associates were found in physical custody. The final result was able to define different custody schemes by type of process according to the needs of internal and external clients.Item Propuesta de un sistema para el control de los inventarios de agroquímicos a granel en una empresa de servicio de fumigación para cultivos de caña(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Gallego Arias, Miguel Andrés; Parra Valdés, Daniel Alberto (Director)The objective of this article is a proposal for a system for the control of agrochemical inventories and a bulk in a fumigation service company for sugarcane crops. For development, a descriptive study with a mixed approach has been used, techniques such as interview and documentary review of inventory reports have been used. For the analysis of stocks, the ABC method is used to classify stocks and identify what should be given priority and emphasize control. In the development of the results, the importance of the inventories to achieve the missionary processes, in the sense of their management was evidenced.
