According to the WHO, it has defined the health of older adults by their functional capacity and not by their limitations, disabilities or illnesses. Therefore, the quality of life of older adults is closely related to the functional capacity and the set of conditions that allow them to participate in their own self-care, in social and family life. The aim of this study is to explore the existing evidence about the tests and scales of functionality used in older adults with cardiovascular disease during hospitalization who receive physical therapy treatment over the past decade. The evidence found to guide physical rehabilitation in older adult patients shows significant changes in the increase in functional capacity.Item La actividad física y su relación con las complicaciones postoperatorias en cirugía cardiaca: una revisión de alcance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Ortiz calderón, Leydi Viviana; Molina Villada, Karol Tatiana; Betancourt Zapata, Isabella; González Ruiz, Katherine (Directora)Physical activity is defined as any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that requires energy expenditure, the influence that this may have on the postoperative prognosis of cardiovascular surgery knowing that a postoperative complication is defined as that subsequent eventuality of a surgical procedure with a local or systemic response that can delay recovery, put a function or life at risk, the relationship that can be established between these concepts is important to consider in health sciences.Item Prescripción de entrenamiento muscular respiratorio en pacientes adultos en ventilación mecánica en unidad de cuidados intensivos: Revisión exploratoria(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025) Carabalí Rivera, Jennifer Andrea; Salazar Muñoz, Valeria; Villanueva Londoño, Evelyn Dayanna; González Ruiz, Katherine (Director)The prescription of respiratory muscle strengthening in adult patients undergoing mechanical ventilation in intensive care unit is a topic of great importance, since it has the potential to significantly improve the evolution and recovery of these patients.
