The solid waste generation is considered a vital issue due largely to increased production and inadequate management. Traditionally the problems of disposal of solid waste have been fixed temporarily regardless proper environmental protection measures, leading to waste the potential use of them. We are coming to the manufacturers of bands in rubber and canvas to have cleaner production processes and feel the need to develop methodologies Management and Integrated Solid Waste Management, which allow their incorporation into productive processes, drawing up out of them, reducing their impacts and thereby harmonizing the management of solid waste and their return to productive processes, obtaining a maximization of the same and thereby reducing their impact on the environment.. This work seeks broadly integrate all productive and non-productive areas of the manufacturing plants Bands Rubber and Canvas, around a management methodology Cleaner Production where senior management lead activities dissemination, training, and especially the implementation of this methodology. Likewise, continuous improvement strategies, which these industries are benefiting, to subject all its managerial and operational processes in order to achieve positive results in the Cleaner Production Plan.Item Plan de gestión integral de residuos sólidos de la estación de servicio Texaco Obrero en la ciudad de Santiago de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2016) Cabrera Trujillo, Alejandra; Sanchéz Muñoz, Miguel Angel; Pérez Vidal, AndreaItem Variables de estabilidad y madurez para medir la calidad del compost en biorresiduos generados en la plaza de mercado en Yumbo(2017) Hoyos Arango, Laura Vanesa; Rovayo Avendaño, ÁngelicaIn Colombia within the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), the highest proportion is equivalent to biowaste by 65%, which can be exploited through biological treatment options such as composting, considered one of the alternatives with greater application, because its cost of investment and operation is lower than that of other treatment systems. However, the compost is sometimes delivered as "soil conditioner" without evaluating its quality in terms of stability and maturity, which not only affects the "soil-plant" system, but also hinders its commercialization as it is an unstable product and immature. However, although there are different variables to assess stability and maturity, its application depends on the requirements and conditions of the study context; since some are expensive and difficult to implement because of the technical requirement and human talent. In this article, a literary review was made regarding the different alternatives for the use of biowaste, focusing on composting and the variables that allow evaluating their quality in terms of stability and maturity. Additionally, through a preliminary analysis, a selection tool was used. reported in other studies, in order to choose the options for measuring the quality of the compost according to the desired requirements. Therefore, the variables with the greatest potential in the context of the municipality of Yumbo to evaluate the quality of the compost obtained from biowaste generated in the market place are: self-heating, humidity, germination index, pH, conductivity, odor and color.Item Conformación del sistema de gestión ambiental para la empresa DEMI S.A.S.(2017) Gutierrez Cardenas, Nini Johana; Silva Leal, Jorge AntonioItem Elaboración e implementación del programa de ahorro y uso eficiente del Agua-PUEAA en la empresa Lubricantes Cerón La 23(2017) Cobo Pérez, Andrés Mauricio; Bravo Lasprilla, Germán; Buitrago Arango, Jaime HernánThe main aim of this research was the study of the current status of the elaboration and implementation of the Efficient Use and Water Saving Program - PUEAA, by the company “Lubricantes Cerón La 23”, and its subsequent approval by the competent Environmental Authority. In order to promote an adequate management, use and operation of the processes carried out by the company, a program was formulated under the guidelines of the PUEAA, established by the Environmental Management Administrative Department (DAGMA), which is the jurisdiction’s competent environmental authority. This program is focused on the optimization and sustainable use of water resources, through the identification and characterization of the events with negative effects on the environment, and the establishment of adequate control and mitigation measures. After analyzing the main dataset, obtained from the primary information survey of the company’s processes, a proposal was designed for the elaboration of the Efficient Use and Water Saving Program - PUEAA, following technical, practical, simple and financially viable alternatives that allowed reduction of water consumption and an efficient use of water resources. Hence, this program was developed through five individual stages of data collection, diagnosis, characterization, data analysis, and program design, aiming to follow the guidelines established in the Law 373 of 1997 "Law of water saving and efficient use of water". The results included the reduction of the monthly average of water consumption for each car by 10%, in comparison to the average of 2016 and 2017. Furthermore, the percentage of water saving was increased by almost 2% in comparison to the licensed volume of well water for the years 2016 y 2017, in addition to the detection and repair of water leaks in the process.Item Plan de gestión integral de residuos sólidos de las oficinas de la Alcaldía Municipal de Popayán(2017) Muñoz Ordoñez, Lina Fernanda; Bravo Jojoa, Yasmin Adriana; Silva Leal, Jorge AntonioItem Propuesta de planificación para establecer la reglamentación de sistemas urbanos de drenaje sostenible en Santiago de Cali(2017) Tascon Obando, Jhon Helmer; Santa Tello, Gisleine; Silva Leal, Jorge AntonioItem Aspectos ambientales en las formas en las normas técnicas GP 1000 de 2009 e ISO 14001 de 2015, para la implementación del sistema de gestión de calidad y de gestión ambiental en las empresas públicas de acueducto y alcantarillado(2017) Villafañe Libreros, Valentina; Toro Hernández, Laura InésItem Impactos ambientales, sociales, económicos y confrontación armada que genera la actividad minera en el bajo Cauca Antioqueño y como apuntar a la sostenibilidad y RSE del sector(2017) Herazo Almanza, Erika Marcela; García Gómez, HenryItem Disposición final de residuos sólidos en zonas Costeras, casco urbano del municipio de Guapi, Cauca, año 2017(2017) Castellanos Álvarez, Alexander; Granja Arboleda, Anibal; Bonilla Mosquera, NayibeItem Huella hídrica en la agricultura en Colombia(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2018) Gómez Meza, Monica Astrid; Bernal Diana PaolaColombia is a country with greater availability of fresh water and its geographical diversity and the diversity of ecosystems that have been favored in the availability of liquid, however, human activity has been exposed to the risk of supply and water quality. This article aims to determine how the calculation of the water footprint in the agricultural sector in Colombia, this footprint is understood as an indicator of consumption and contamination of fresh water. The methodology used for the realization of this article corresponds to a bibliographic review where theoretical and technical documents that give clarity to the concept of water footprint can be consulted, then the studies that analyze the subject in the context of Colombia are addressed. Although from the academic scope has contributed a concept of Water Footprint (HH), Green Water Footprint (HHV), Blue Water Footprint (HHA), Blue Water Footprint (HHA), as well as the methodology to measure, in Colombia, the Current issue is mainly done by the public institutions attached to the Ministry of the Environment, which have not been developed so that they have not been developed and the resources contributed to the quantification of their water footprint according to their activity, region and context. It is recommended a coordinated work between the environmental authorities, the unions of the agricultural sector so that the producer as well as the large size can calculate the footprint and with this there is more precise information, which should be grouped in a public database that allows a comparison, between crops, regions, techniques, among other aspects.Item Causas de desabastecimiento de agua:El caso de la represa Sara Brut en el municipio de Bolívar en el Valle del Cauca(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2018) Alba León, Jhon William; Quintero Ángel, MauricioThe Sara Brut dam was built to solve the problem of shortages in some municipalities in the northern department of Valle. However, it has been far from being the definitive solution to this problem. The purpose of this study was to determine the environmental impact and business development in the area of influence of the reservoir in the municipality of Bolivar. In order to do this, resources of documentary research and some qualitative tools and techniques were used, making visits to the area and applying interviews to the community to know their perception of the causes of shortages and environmental impact. The results show three important causes of shortages, among them, the phenomenon of the child, the agro-industrial use and the use for irrigation. The study allows to conclude that it is necessary to look for solutions that involve the different beneficiary entities in a joint work, leaving aside specific actions and benefits that protect the infrastructure and maintenance of the reservoir with what benefits the municipalities of the department
