Item Metodología para implementar un programa de producción más limpia para el proceso de fabricación de bandas de caucho y lona(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2016) Moreno Perafán, Deyanira; Mesu Ramírez, Jorge Enrique; Montoya Torres, FernandoModernization and technological, industrial and demographic growth have brought many benefits to the Humane Society, but this has not been free, because the cost to maintain the current living standards has caused an environmental problem of global order, such as pollution air and water, overexploitation of natural resources and increased production of Solid Waste. The solid waste generation is considered a vital issue due largely to increased production and inadequate management. Traditionally the problems of disposal of solid waste have been fixed temporarily regardless proper environmental protection measures, leading to waste the potential use of them. We are coming to the manufacturers of bands in rubber and canvas to have cleaner production processes and feel the need to develop methodologies Management and Integrated Solid Waste Management, which allow their incorporation into productive processes, drawing up out of them, reducing their impacts and thereby harmonizing the management of solid waste and their return to productive processes, obtaining a maximization of the same and thereby reducing their impact on the environment.. This work seeks broadly integrate all productive and non-productive areas of the manufacturing plants Bands Rubber and Canvas, around a management methodology Cleaner Production where senior management lead activities dissemination, training, and especially the implementation of this methodology. Likewise, continuous improvement strategies, which these industries are benefiting, to subject all its managerial and operational processes in order to achieve positive results in the Cleaner Production Plan.Item Plan de gestión integral de residuos sólidos de la estación de servicio Texaco Obrero en la ciudad de Santiago de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2016) Cabrera Trujillo, Alejandra; Sanchéz Muñoz, Miguel Angel; Pérez Vidal, AndreaItem Propuesta para reducir el consumo de agua en la producción de productos derivados del huevo en la empresa Ovopacific S.A.S.(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2016) Rosero David, Jairo Antonio; Clavijo Salinas, Juan CarlosProduction of animal processed food is between the highest-water consumption activities at industrial sector; therefore, it is very important to find and implement alternatives aimed to optimize use of water in these processes. In this work, specific water consumption in liquid egg products production at Ovopacific S.A.S., through Water Footprint methodology, in which an equipment and water-consuming activities inventory was performed, and a strategy aimed to reduce water consumption in line with National Cleaner Production Policy was proposed. It was determined that Clean in Place (CIP) process is the main water consuming activity in the whole process whit 54,6%; and reutilization of rinse water from CIP of egg store tanks was proposed as main strategy for reducing water consumption. A potential saving of 21% of whole water consumption was estimated.Item Propuesta para la implementación del sistema de gestión ambiental en la clínica Dime Neurocardiovascular S.A bajo la NORMA ISO 14001:2015(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2016) Torrado Varón, Camila; Cardona Gómez, Tatiana; Tabares Castillo, RubenItem Propuesta para formular el programa de uso eficiente y ahorro del agua PUEAA 2016-2020 en la panificadora Pani Ltda(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2016) Castaño Franco, María Fernanda; Serna Álzate, Edwin Alexander; Alfonso Tezna, JairoItem Diseño e implementación de un sistema de gestión ambiental en residuos sólidos industriales para la empresa Fogel Andina S.A.S(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2016) Varela Rivera, Xiomara; Vaca Ballesteros, Dennis Milena; Orobio Segura, Carlos AndrésThe management of industrial solid waste is a reality in which they live every country in the world. However, the compost is sometimes delivered as "soil conditioner" without evaluating its quality in terms of stability and maturity, which not only affects the "soil-plant" system, but also hinders its commercialization as it is an unstable product and immature. However, although there are different variables to assess stability and maturity, its application depends on the requirements and conditions of the study context; since some are expensive and difficult to implement because of the technical requirement and human talent. In this article, a literary review was made regarding the different alternatives for the use of biowaste, focusing on composting and the variables that allow evaluating their quality in terms of stability and maturity. Additionally, through a preliminary analysis, a selection tool was used. reported in other studies, in order to choose the options for measuring the quality of the compost according to the desired requirements. Therefore, the variables with the greatest potential in the context of the municipality of Yumbo to evaluate the quality of the compost obtained from biowaste generated in the market place are: self-heating, humidity, germination index, pH, conductivity, odor and color.Item Conformación del sistema de gestión ambiental para la empresa DEMI S.A.S.(2017) Gutierrez Cardenas, Nini Johana; Silva Leal, Jorge AntonioItem Impactos ambientales, sociales, económicos y confrontación armada que genera la actividad minera en el bajo Cauca Antioqueño y como apuntar a la sostenibilidad y RSE del sector(2017) Herazo Almanza, Erika Marcela; García Gómez, HenryItem Disposición final de residuos sólidos en zonas Costeras, casco urbano del municipio de Guapi, Cauca, año 2017(2017) Castellanos Álvarez, Alexander; Granja Arboleda, Anibal; Bonilla Mosquera, NayibeItem Propuesta de planificación para establecer la reglamentación de sistemas urbanos de drenaje sostenible en Santiago de Cali(2017) Tascon Obando, Jhon Helmer; Santa Tello, Gisleine; Silva Leal, Jorge AntonioItem Elaboración e implementación del programa de ahorro y uso eficiente del Agua-PUEAA en la empresa Lubricantes Cerón La 23(2017) Cobo Pérez, Andrés Mauricio; Bravo Lasprilla, Germán; Buitrago Arango, Jaime HernánThe main aim of this research was the study of the current status of the elaboration and implementation of the Efficient Use and Water Saving Program - PUEAA, by the company “Lubricantes Cerón La 23”, and its subsequent approval by the competent Environmental Authority. In order to promote an adequate management, use and operation of the processes carried out by the company, a program was formulated under the guidelines of the PUEAA, established by the Environmental Management Administrative Department (DAGMA), which is the jurisdiction’s competent environmental authority. This program is focused on the optimization and sustainable use of water resources, through the identification and characterization of the events with negative effects on the environment, and the establishment of adequate control and mitigation measures. After analyzing the main dataset, obtained from the primary information survey of the company’s processes, a proposal was designed for the elaboration of the Efficient Use and Water Saving Program - PUEAA, following technical, practical, simple and financially viable alternatives that allowed reduction of water consumption and an efficient use of water resources. Hence, this program was developed through five individual stages of data collection, diagnosis, characterization, data analysis, and program design, aiming to follow the guidelines established in the Law 373 of 1997 "Law of water saving and efficient use of water". The results included the reduction of the monthly average of water consumption for each car by 10%, in comparison to the average of 2016 and 2017. Furthermore, the percentage of water saving was increased by almost 2% in comparison to the licensed volume of well water for the years 2016 y 2017, in addition to the detection and repair of water leaks in the process. This activity generate a big habitat destruction that involves to the interruption of ecosystems affecting the connection between the elements that make up the surrounding natural ecosystems. This document has the purpose of documenting the mining context and the damages caused in the Chocó Department. This manuscript shows how dangerous chemicals such as cyanide and mercury in the extraction of this mineral are used. It use caused numerous impacts in natural space which affect the environment and human health. In Colombia, the first’s gold main are produce in Antioquia (49%), Chocó (20%) and Nariño (9%). Illegal mining is one of the most informal activities in the country, due to that taxes are not paid to the state, it does not have elements of labor protection and safety, it generates loss of human lives. This analysis is the result of the compilation and documentation of actors who has studied this activity; appreciations that show how the mining that is practiced in the opencast and underground gold impacts on biodiversity and social groups that are the main actors of this problem. Currently, if viewed from the social point of view, mining in the Chocó has caused more harm than benefits to the communities. Much of this activity is informal and illegal with some cases in the process of formalization. Despite this dynamic, Chocó is full of strong and solid organizational processes of black and indigenous communities that, among other things, have been fighting for decades for the country to recognize in its Constitution, its interethnic and plurinational nature for the management of areas in which they have lived ancestrally.Item Uso de indices de calidad y de contaminación en la caracterización de fuentes hídricas(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2018) Valencia Ospina, María Delfina; Valencia Ospina, María DelfinaThe current problem of the water availability in quality and quantity is associated with the inadequate water resource management due to the development of socioeconomic activities. Worldwide, it is common to evaluate the condition of water resources through the Water Quality -WQI- and Water Pollution -WPI- indexes with the purpose of generating actions of adequate use and sustainable consumption. This paper reflects about the development, uses, advantages, limitations and applicability of these indices in the characterization of water sources, in the world and Colombia, specially in the Valle del Cauca, and their use as management tools. It was found that the indexes are a simple, concise and valid method that qualify with a single value the state of water. The main limitation of quality indexes is the loss of information and the hiding of real conditions, contrary to the pollution indexes that allow analyzing particular environmental problems. Therefore, in the selection or design of indexes should be based on the objective of the study, the degree of scientific rigor required, and prior knowledge and water uses.
