Item Impacto de los láser CO2 y el láser de diodo como innovación para tratamientos vaginales. Una revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Bañol Betancur, Francy Yulieth; Zuñiga Medicis, Sandra Ghinet; López López, Maria Nela (Directora)CO2 and diode lasers have emerged as important innovations in the treatment of genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GMS), which significantly affects women's quality of life by causing symptoms such as vaginal dryness and dyspareunia. The search for noninvasive therapeutic alternatives has highlighted the effectiveness of these lasers in improving clinical outcomes. Objective: To analyze the impact of CO2 lasers and diode lasers as an innovation in vaginal treatments. Methodology: A systematic bibliographic review of articles published between 2019 and 2024 in Spanish, English and Portuguese was conducted. Specific keywords were used to optimize the search, where inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied and finally 40 articles were selected for analysis. Results: The CO2 laser is effective in regenerating vaginal tissue and relieving symptoms such as dryness and dyspareunia, while the diode laser improves elasticity and tone. Although CO2 has more scientific support, it can have side effects, and diode has fewer complications, but less evidence. Both lasers are promising in gynecology, but more studies are required to confirm their efficacy and safety. s. Conclusion: CO2 and diode laser treatment are effective and safe in relieving GSM symptoms in postmenopausal women, improving sexual health without serious side effects. More research is needed to confirm the results.
