The duality of the business world is evident in the mastery of knowledge in what has been called soft skills or expertise to solve technical problems that are nothing more than specific measurable practices in addition to being part of the training process, soft skills, directly related to emotions, which by definition are personal attributes that exhibit the ability to relate to others and allow overcoming crises and / or unforeseen events. This is the subject of this article, which analyzes the importance of soft skills in small and medium-sized companies, whose personnel must adapt to business changes and interpret consumer demands. It is concluded that soft skills allow to communicate and interact with other people, in a precise, effective and focused way, especially at work, but also to establish a strong link with daily life, as a combination of social and communication skills, aptitudes and capacity of approach and interrelation with others.
