Item Incidencia del feminicidio en Latinoamérica durante los años 2015 a 2020(2024) Angulo Cabezas, Mónica Esperanza; Castillo Grueso, Julieth Carolina; Saya Ortiz, Yudi Tatiana; Prado Lucumí, Beatriz Eugenia (Directora)Femicide is the culmination of the cycle of violence and one of the most serious forms of human rights violations. Generally, the perpetrators of violence are men, who have had an affective bond with the victim and who act based on feelings of anger, contempt, pleasure and macho behavior. In recent years, the number of femicides reported daily has shown a significant increase in Latin American countries. The objective of this article is to identify the incidence of femicide in Latin America, through a literature review published during the years 2015 to 2020, under a qualitative, descriptive approach, based on the PRISMA method. Fifty articles were selected that evidenced that the countries with the highest rates of femicide include Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. Femicide may be the result of the lack of effective prevention and control mechanisms on the part of the state, social and health institutions, and the community in general. The social worker has the responsibility to contribute to the prevention of femicide through educational programs, promotion of values, psychological and emotional support, work with institutions, and raising awareness of the importance of reporting the crime of femicide.
