Item Rehabilitación en pacientes con cáncer de pulmón: revisión de alcance(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Santa García Camila Andrea; Vargas García Catalina; Almeida Bonilla Juan Sebastián; Cruz Mosquera, Freiser EceomoLung cancer is a heterogeneous disease with multiple subtypes, with adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma being the most prevalent. Despite its significant impact on affected individuals, appropriate treatment combined with pulmonary rehabilitation can lead to numerous benefits, including improved quality of life and prolonged survival. Objective: This study aims to describe the characteristics and effects of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with lung cancer. Methodology: A scoping review was conducted on studies of any epidemiological design, in any language, published between 2010 and 2024, evaluating the characteristics and effects of pre- and post-surgical pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with lung cancer. The search was performed in PubMed, Cochrane Clinical Trial, SCOPUS, Science Direct, Web of Science, Springer, Scielo, and LILAC databases. Results: Out of 1439 studies, 48 were included in the review after eliminating duplicates and assessing titles, abstracts, and full texts. The duration of participation in rehabilitation programs ranged from 1 to 20 weeks. These programs included various activities such as muscle training, nutritional and psychological support, and education about the disease. Pulmonary rehabilitation was associated with better clinical outcomes; however, its influence on mortality requires further investigation. Conclusion: Pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with lung cancer has proven crucial in improving lung function, exercise capacity, and quality of life
