Abstract
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) affects various physical, cognitive, and social components, characterized by difficulty relating appropriately to society. Dance is a tool that promotes functional movement and its practice is perceived from different perspectives. The objective was to determine the effects of dance therapy on different integrative skills in children with ASD through a scoping review conducted over the last decade. Methodology included an exploratory and descriptive literature review using databases such as ScienceDirect and PubMed, following the PRISMA declaration. Results show that the benefits of Dance Therapy significantly reduce symptoms experienced by individuals with ASD, providing a better quality of life. The practice of this art offers a variety of psychological and emotional benefits, such as improved social skills, strategies for managing stress, building bonds, and improving self-perception, self-concept, and self-esteem.

El trastorno del espectro autista (TEA) se caracteriza por la dificultad para relacionarse con la sociedad, afectando componentes físicos, cognitivos y sociales. El objetivo fue determinar los efectos de la danzaterapia en niños con TEA mediante una revisión de alcance de la última década siguiendo la declaración PRISMA. Los resultados indican que la danzaterapia disminuye considerablemente la sintomatología, proporcionando una mejor calidad de vida. Esta práctica mejora destrezas sociales, estrategias para el manejo de estrés, autoestima, conciencia corporal y estimula la coordinación motora gruesa y el desarrollo funcional.
