Abstract
The general objective of this article is to investigate and analyze the relevance of business process management (BPM) and its influence on organizations. To achieve this, a methodology based on a deductive approach is used, which reviews previous research by several authors, starting from a general perspective and moving towards a more specific one. The study is organized into three sections: the first focuses on defining and conceptualizing BPM and its role in organizations, while the second highlights the advantages of BPM. Finally, the third section consists of a discussion in which it is evaluated whether the initial hypothesis is indeed fulfilled. The main results indicate that BPM is essential for the optimization of business processes, which in turn increases efficiency and effectiveness through systematic management. This results in a significant improvement in the operation of companies, making the most of their resources and reducing both costs and unnecessary time. The fundamental conclusion is that BPM not only adds value to organizations by enabling them to identify, analyze and optimize their processes on an ongoing basis, but it is also crucial for fostering innovation and improving decision making. This efficiency and adaptability are vital for success and survival in today's competitive business world.

El artículo tiene como objetivo general investigar y analizar la relevancia de la gestión de los procesos de negocio (BPM) y su influencia en las organizaciones. Para lograrlo, se emplea una metodología basada en un enfoque deductivo, que revisa investigaciones previas de varios autores, partiendo de una perspectiva general y dirigiéndose hacia una más específica. El estudio se organiza en tres secciones: la primera se centra en definir y conceptualizar el BPM y su rol en las organizaciones, mientras que la segunda resalta las ventajas que esta gestión conlleva. Finalmente, la tercera sección consiste en una discusión en la que se evalúa si la hipótesis inicial se cumple efectivamente. Los principales resultados indican que el BPM es esencial para la optimización de los procesos empresariales, lo que a su vez incrementa la eficiencia y eficacia mediante una gestión sistemática.
