Item Longevidad en restauraciones de recubrimiento total en oxido de zirconio, revisión sistemática(2021) Medina Bulla, María José; Moreno González, Diego Fernando; Restrepo Montoya, Juan Fernando; Calero, Isabel CristinaObjective: To determine the longevity of zirconium oxide in full veneer restorations through a literature review, according to the identified article reports. Materials and methods: An observational, descriptive, qualitative, qualitative systematic review study was carried out, where a focused question was developed using the PICO format, asking if "What is the survival rate (O) of full veneer restorations in zirconium oxide (I), cemented on enamel or dentin substrate (C), in patients requiring rehabilitative treatment in the anterior and posterior sector? (P) where results were obtained from articles, which were already established, without intervening in the natural course of events, in order to answer research questions and / or test hypotheses, with a literary design where a search was performed in the following databases: Science Direct, Dialnet, Medigraphic, Pubmed, Research Gate and Hindawi. Results: We selected (n=38) studies that met the inclusion criteria, distributed as follows: Pubmed with (n=23), Dialnet (n=2), Science Direct with (n=9), Research Gate with (n=1), Medigraphic with (n=1) and Hindawi (n=2) for a total of 38 articles retrieved since 2010; the most reported failure was ceramic chips and crown fractures, the most reported survival years were 2, 3 and 5 years, with rates ranging from 90 to 95%, demonstrating that zirconium oxide is one of the most preferred ceramic materials for prosthetic treatments. Conclusions: Zirconium oxide proved to be an optimal material for carrying out full veneer rehabilitative treatments, providing an acceptable level of success according to the results of the studies, the survival rates had a good result against different years and with different types of cement and/or treatment regions in the oral cavity, which means that zirconium oxide is a material that provides very good characteristics for rehabilitative procedures in dentistry.Item Niveles de prevención en pacientes con enfermedad de parkinson, una revisión de la literatura del periodo 2011-2021(2021) Sarria Benavides, Daniela; Estrella Muñoz, Ana Andrea; Chacón Cortes, Daniela; Calero, Isabel CristinaItem Tipos y fallas que intervienen en el proceso de adhesión en la dentina esclerótica(2021) Montilla, Stephani Carmona; Posso Calixto, Paula Andrea; Zuleta García, Daniela; Calero, Isabel CristinaDuring the course of this research, the types and faults involved in the adhesion process to the sclerotic dentin are determined as an important contribution to the field of dentistry, for which a qualitative methodology is taken into account, since it is not performed quantification, if not an analysis of information from a collection of documentary data, classified as a systematic review, in which a purification was made under a prism model, in which it was possible to find quite old information on the subject because it exceeds the 10 years, the predominance of the authors is between the years 2000 and 2007, there is a lack of updated information, however, it was concluded that the immersed typification is a categorization of the deteriorated tissue and the failures originate from inconclusive procedures, and lack of knowledge of the different adhesion techniques.Item Estrategia “lift the lip” primera fase(2024) Agudelo Viveros, Alejandra; Muñoz Carmona, Lina Marcela; Colorado Zúñiga, Cesar Mauricio; Calero, Isabel CristinaItem Revisión bibliografica basada en tres ejercicios posturales de la guía good oral posture exercises (gopex)(2024) Gálvez Cruz, Daniela; Arenas Daza, Aliz Annith; Palma Ordoñez, Dana Lizeth; Espinosa, MonicaItem Evaluación de la adaptación marginal y el ajuste interno de coronas cad-cam fabricadas en resina fresada comparando la cementación de dos tipos de biomateriales en dientes posteriores: estudio in vitro(2024) Aldana Aragón, Valentina; Ordoñez Echeverry, Isabella; Velásquez Paz, Lina Marcela; Ortiz Cedeño, OskarItem Manejo del dolor fantasma en odontología(2024) Ayala Montenegro, Carlos Alberto; Fernández Alarcón, Nicole; Serna Arias, Luisa Fernanda; Castro Velasco, EdisonItem Guía de manejo de cementos selladores endodónticos utilizados por estudiantes de odontología de la universidad santiago de cali periodo 2025 - a(2025) Ordóñez Fernández, Santiago; Monard Vallejo, Juan Camilo; Malte Aguirre, Jhon Jairo; Agudelo, Luis Alfonso(Directora)Endodontic treatment can be successful due to different factors, including the characteristics of the materials, the technique used in the procedure, adequate disinfection and hermetic sealing, which will prevent the entry of pathogens into the root canal and periodontal tissues; (1) currently, professionals use various types of endodontic sealants, which are divided into different groups according to their chemical composition, resin-based sealants, zinc oxideeugenol sealants, cements containing calcium hydroxide, glass ionomer-based sealants and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) cements. (2) The present study was carried out with the objective of describing the characteristics, properties, biological effects and methods of use of endodontic sealant cements through a management guide to facilitate their use during endodontic treatments carried out by students of the dentistry program at the University of Santiago de Cali. It was observed that there are different types of sealant cements which are used according to the need and treatment to be carried out, each of those found in the literature were described, the company that markets them, their benefits and indications, which makes it easier for the professional to choose the right one at the time of carrying out a procedure. To analyze which are the most recurrent musculoskeletal osteomuscular disorders most recurrent in dental professionals in order to make the risks to make the risks visible and propose activities to reduce them. Methodology. A literature review was conducted using the descriptive non-experimental method organized following the qualitative approach. Results. The PRISMA statement guideline was followed, limiting the results to publications made in the last five years (2019 to 2024). The databases PubMed, Sage Journal, Springer, Scopus, SciELO, Redalyc, Dialnet and Google Scholar were searched, resulting in 176 researches in total between articles and theses. Forty-one were excluded due to title and 53 were duplicates. Of the remaining 82 articles, 58 did not meet the inclusion criteria, leaving 24 articles that were selected for the literature review. Conclusions. The most common musculoskeletal disorders in dentists mainly affect the neck, shoulders and lumbar region, due to the static and repetitive nature of the profession. Among the main risk factors identified are inadequate posture, long working hours, repetitive movements and insufficient use of ergonomic equipment. In addition, individual factors such as age, sedentary lifestyle and work stress increase vulnerability to these conditions. The most effective prevention and management strategies include the implementation of ergonomic principles, the promotion of regular physical activity and the adoption of active breaks.Item Manejo integral de la mordida abierta en un paciente pediátrico: enfoque diagnóstico y terapéutico: reporte de caso(2025) Romero, Cristhian Daniel; Sandoval, Erik Javier; Pabon, Angelica (Directora)Item Estudio comparativo de higiene oral en estudiantes de odontología de i y x semestre de la universidad santiago de cali en el período académico 2024 b(2025) Ordoñez Burbano, Sofía; Valencia Dávila, Karen Pamela; Jiménez Marín, María José; Arana, Diana Andrea (Directora)Introduction: Dentistry is a branch of medicine that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the stomatognathic system. Unfortunately, most professionals in training do not put into practice what they have learned throughout their studies. Objective: To compare the level of oral hygiene among dental students from the first and tenth semesters at the University of Santiago de Cali during the 2024 B academic period. Method: Descriptive research, mixed design (qualitative and quantitative data are used), descriptive/explanatory comparative study. For this project, 76 first-semester dental students and 26 tenth-semester students were selected by simple random convenience sampling. A clinical history was taken, collecting basic patient information, emphasizing the patient's medical history, an O'Leary PB index, and an intraoral examination to determine the presence of supragingival calculus. Finally, the results obtained during the research were used to determine the level of oral hygiene in each population. Result: The results allow to establish oral hygiene in students of the Faculty of Dentistry, where students of X semester showed, on average, less plaque accumulation compared to students of I semester, which suggests an improvement in the effectiveness of oral hygiene with the progress in dental training. Conclusion: Epidemiological studies of oral health constitute a basic and essential tool for the proper planning of prevention and dental care programs, as well as for evaluating the degree of adequacy of dental services to the actual needs of the populationItem Manejo de paciente pediátrico clase ii esquelética con activador abierto elástico de klammt.
