Estudio de proceso de automatización de inventario en empresas manufactureras
(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Rodríguez Polania, Federman; Vargas Acuña, Leidy Carolina
In recent years, Colombian companies have detected the need to implement software for the management of warehouse inventories, in order to boost sales and support same-day product deliveries, complying with customer requirements. Due to the fact that companies do not have effective control of inventory levels, on many occasions there is a shortage of warehouses and noncompliance with production and sales plans, which is why emergency purchases are made, without having time to evaluate different offers and availability, that is, purchases are made without being properly planned; Among the consequences of this lack of control is the low quality of the inputs, which in turn generates low quality in the products that are distributed, offering the customer products that do not meet their requirements. For this reason, the need arises to develop a proposal that manages to optimize the management of merchandise inventories as the solution to the problem posed, in this case, Inventoria software is proposed. Key Words: Supply shortage, suppliers, inventory software, inventories, inventory controls.

(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020) Donoso Leal, Alexander; Reyes Rodríguez, Sara Nair; Henao, Juan David
The purpose of this applied research monograph is to design an inventory management system for the company WORLD MEDICAL DEVICES S.A.S., which allows maintaining an adequate stock of medical devices and fulfillment in order deliveries. To achieve this objective, a diagnosis of the current situation was carried out using different industrial engineering tools such as cause-effect diagram, Pareto diagram, ABC classification of inventories, forecasts and analysis of demand, in order to identify the elements most important to focus for the development of the system. According to the result of the analysis, we proceeded to select the inventory model "continuous review system", this being the only one that allows us to calculate the reorder points that, combined with the economic order quantity, becomes a permanent control model of inventories. Finally, action plans are designed to be followed in order to target the deficiencies in inventory management at WM Devices SAS and thereby improve the level of service and customer confidence.

(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Millan Cuero, Neila Yasmina; Castro Castrillon, Diego Fernando; Arboleda Zuñiga, Jairo
For the Sociedad Portuaria de Buenaventura S.A one of the most important indicators; but the main one is the productivity of loading / unloading of containers transferred between the ship - land and vice versa, with cranes (acquired in 2017) Ship To Shore Super Post-panamax. These state-of-the-art equipment is built to world standards to allow different terminals to align with international trade trends. For its operation it is necessary that the operators in charge of handling have sufficient technical knowledge, skills and abilities to avoid damage to cargo, infrastructure, ship, equipment and people. Hence the importance of training operators in unusual or critical conditions and safety of the operation, without increasing costs generated by practices in real equipment. The objective of this study proposes to demonstrate that by means of simulation, STS container crane operators will develop skills and abilities that allow improving productivity to comply with the indicators proposed by the “Sociedad Portuaria de Buenaventura S.A. Through the application of programs and exercises built from the actual transfer operation between the ship and land and based on the principles of physical movement of containerized cargo. Finally, the increase of nine (9) additional movements in one hour of operation is explained through physical theories of movement, this increase being the main findings of the project. Other important findings are the operating principles of the container crane and its impact on its useful life and the most common factors that generate maintenance.

Importancia del control de inventarios para alcance de competitividad en empresas de dispositivos médicos
(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Jiménez Bolaños, Jorge Alexander
The efficient management of inventories linked to logistics management has gained great importance during the last decade. This is how companies nowadays seek to leverage their operations in agile tools for the management of inventories that allow them to maximize profits through the reduction of operating costs, associated with the maintenance of high volumes of stocks in the warehouse. The above proposes a great challenge, and it is the very fact of knowing which is the ideal tool for inventory management and operations management. This document throughout its extension exposes a series of models that are based on theories for this purpose, making it clear that there is no bad or good management system. It is a task that each company must carry out, determine which is the ideal model of inventories that fits their needs and thus make the best decision. Within the document are cited authors of great stature such as Aníbal Mora, who discounted the importance of inventory management, and how these allow a company to expand and have a greater participation in a globalized market, where only companies that manage to break traditionalist paradigms they will be able to survive. In accordance with the above, a series of theories is made available to the reader to make decisions regarding the discounts that suppliers offer on purchases in large volumes, considering that the costs absorbed by the maintenance of said inventory can not exceed the discount granted by the provider. To verify the veracity of the theories exposed within this document, a real case of implementation of an inventory management system is exposed. This reveals through the real data presented in its statement of results, the increase in operational efficiency that the OSEOMED SAS company has after the implementation.
