Item Síndrome de Prune Belly en paciente de 5 años de edad: reporte de caso(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Delgado Melo, Cathalina; Espinosa Suárez, Lina María; Rinckoar Palacios, ͩAejandro; Salcedo Libreros, Luis Felipe (Director)Prune Belly Syndrome, also known as prune belly syndrome, is a rare congenital disease characterized by the triad of abdominal muscle deficiency, urinary tract malformations, and cryptorchidism. In this case report, a 5-year-old male pediatric patient is presented who was diagnosed with this condition based on clinical findings such as agenesis of the abdominal wall muscles, bilateral cryptorchidism, and urinary tract malformations, the latter being the cause of multiple urinary tract infections, which correspond to frequent complications in patients with this condition and who were subject to repeated hospitalizations. Emphasis is also placed on the relevance of early diagnosis and multidisciplinary intervention to improve long-term outcomes. This report aims to contribute to the knowledge of the pathology in the region, offering a useful reference for health professionals in the management of similar cases.
