Item Análisis retrospectivo de factores de riesgo asociados Ancylostoma Caninum en perros: estudio de casos y controles del Laboratorio Veterinario del Valle en Cali 2024(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2025-12-04) Londoño Jalabe, Catalina; Zapata Gualtero, Kimberly; Guarín Patarroyo, Camilo (Director)This study retrospectively analyzed the factors associated with Ancylostoma caninum infection in dogs treated at a veterinary laboratory in Cali during 2024. A case–control design was applied using clinical records and official environmental data. Biological variables (age, breed, sex) and environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, rainfall) were evaluated for their association with parasite occurrence. Results showed higher infection rates in young dogs and in those exposed to warm and humid environments. No significant differences were found by sex or breed. It was concluded that tropical climatic conditions and age are the main risk factors for A. caninum transmission, emphasizing the need to strengthen preventive measures and deworming programs within the urban setting of Cali.
