Item Enriquecimiento de la Visualización de Información mediante el uso de Realidad Aumentada – Caso de Estudios: Periódico Utópicos de la Universidad Santiago de Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2020-10-14) Varela Mejía, Santiago; Rodríguez Flores, Daniel Andrés; García Rincón, Juan David; Behar Leiser, Olga Grace; Dinas, SimenaThe Utópicos newspaper is an informative bulletin of the Santiago de Cali University, it is a proposal of the Laboratory of the Faculty of Communication and Advertising that is defined as an informative medium produced by students and in turn, is used as a bridge between student practices and entry into working life. This academic exercise has been achieved in seven (7) years, consolidating itself at the University with its bimonthly printed publications, a digital publication, an interactive proposal and a space on the radio. As a form of intervention to the printed medium, this project proposes the use of new technologies, such as augmented reality to enrich impressions, through multimedia content exploiting the use of mobile devices for this and taking advantage of the high penetration that they have in the market. The development was done with Unity, and the Vuforia SDK (Software Development Kit). Two main results were obtained from this project: a WEB application was developed to manage the basic components for the operation of augmented reality in the Vuforia environment and a mobile application was created for the visualization of these components at the user level, this point with the aim of enriching multimedia content at the newspaper level. The tests carried out included compatibility tests between devices with Android and iOS operating systems and time flows were also tested when managing the components from the Web. In general, the final product has as highlights the flexibility and scalability of development and implementation, thus allowing adaptation of components and additional requirements based on the needs of administration and visualization of multimedia content at the level of Augmented Reality.Item Xamarin: La propuesta de Microsoft para el desarrollo móvil multiplataforma(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019-11-15) Pantoja Mosquera, Luis Carlos; Dinas, SimenaThe development of mobile applications implies the need for them to be encoded in different operating systems, resolving different technical and technological difficulties so that the APPS work in a single environment of business information and are executed in each of the existing operating systems in the market. Developing mobile applications using the tools of each operating system means investing more time and greater costs, in addition to not responding quickly to the needs of the market, which jeopardizes the objectives of the companies, by not being able to place the APP early to users to run on all operating systems. To solve the above difficulties, today developers have multiplatform mobile development tools that allow the coding of the APP in different operating systems. The objective of this article is to show how Xamarin technology, acquired at the beginning of 2016 by Microsoft, is a good alternative for multiplatform development of mobile applications specifically for Android, iOS and Windows operating systems. The article contains a description of Xamarin's cross-platform features, installation requirements, aspects such as the development environment, the test environment, the implementation environment and the visual design environment among others.
