Methods: Narrative review of intermediate level theories according to the classification proposed by Martha Raile. Clinical question PICO P (population) chapters that describe the intermediate level theories applicable to the administrative-managerial role of nursing care; I (interest) through the theoreticalempirical conceptual structure link the theories of intermediate level to the administrative-managerial role; C (control) chapters that describe intermediate level theories that are not applicable to the administrative-managerial role, O (results) propose a new way of using the theoretical-empirical conceptual structure to support professional roles from epistemology in nursing. Results: The theories have demarcated the way in which nursing has been evolving, from the different perspectives and approaches that have been given, they have been nurturing professional training, providing a significant contribution to nursing work. It is then that from the different contributions the theories are building and strengthening the practice in the face of quality care, service and management. Conclusions: Theoretical interaction is the center of the nursing process. This relationship is characterized by being a communication of a theoretical and practical nature. (Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2022) Londoño Chamorro, Karen Andrea; Bolaños Manchabajoy, Wilson; Arocemena Acosta, Kevin; Zambrano Bermeo, Rosa Nury (Directora)
Introduction: the COVID-19 pandemic, with its consequences, increased the complexity of university life and, in effect, the unleashing of stress and other disorders in students; because in this situation, students were forced to change their ways of studying, to enter the virtual world and to increase their study days in the midst of uncertainty. Objective: to review the available scientific evidence on academic stress and mental health disorders in college students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A systematic review was carried out using the PRISMA method, based on the search for articles in databases such as SCIENCE DIRECT, SPRINGER, TAYLOR & FRANCIS, SAGE JOURNALS, describing academic stress in university students in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Results: a total of 22 articles were included out of 6,430 identified, which met 100% of the inclusion criteria and 70% of the methodological rigor. An accelerated and progressive increase of stress in university students during the COVID-19 pandemic was evidenced. Regarding the manifestation of stress, studies indicate that it is accompanied by feelings of loneliness and a perceived lack of control, which can indisputably affect a student's academic performance and mental health, in general. Conclusions: during the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant increase in academic stress in university students, as well as in mental disorders such as depression and anxiety, which were determined by various sources of stress, including social distancing, the overload of academic activities, the level of demands from professors and uncertainty regarding economic support.

(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Acosta Gutierrez, Lina Maria; Angulo Landazury, Yully Vanessa; Robles Mora, Daniela; Zambrano Bermeo, Rosa Nury (Directora); Ortega Arce, Dina Carmenza (Directora)
Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 is one of the chronic diseases with the highest prevalence in adolescence, it is a condition characterized by high levels of glucose in the bloodstream, consequent to pancreatic dysfunction, its approach depends on a variety of factors that adding to pharmacological treatment facilitate better metabolic control and disease exacerbation. Objective: to determine the factors associated with adherence to treatment of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (DM1) in adolescents, published in the scientific literature during the period 2017 to 2022. Methodology: a scoping review was performed following the five-stage approach, suggested by Arksey and O'Malley, as well as, using the PRISMA method. Results: 14 scientific articles were reviewed, which made it possible to determine that among the factors associated with adherence to DM1 treatment are those related to adolescent mental health, family support network, diet, sedentary habits, lack of schooling, social status and sleep habits. Conclusion: adherence to treatment for Type 1 Diabetes (DM1) in the adolescent population depends on different factors such as depression and/or stress, inadequate diet, sedentary practices and certain socio-family dynamics of the individual, which, added to the evolutionary changes typical of adolescence, largely determine the control or complication of the disease.
