Objective: to carry out a literary review on the use of the Cad Cam technique in the dental laboratory. 2 Methods: descriptive review with a qualitative approach, in which a bibliographic review was carried out in different electronic databases (Medline, PubMed and Cochrane Library) At the end of the search, a total of 57 articles were collected and 30 were discarded for not meeting the inclusion criteria cited. The variables that took into account for the analysis of the information Cad Cam systems in fixed, removable and total prosthesis. Results: dental laboratories took the initiative to use this technology in prosthetic appliances to obtain more predictable restorations, reduce cost and minimize the number of repetitions Conclusions: At the end of this review it was possible to conclude that the Cad Cam system is one of the most complete systems in the area of dentistry, that there are multiple advantages in its use in dental laboratories and that there was a variety of materials that allow restorations to be made high quality dental
