Item Influencia de la matriz de titanio para recubrimientos de plata en las propiedades antibacterianas presentes en dispositivos urinarios(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) De la cruz Perilla, Andrés Felipe; Acosta, Franklin Bermeo (Director)Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) belong to the main nosocomial infections in the world and have given rise to the extensive study of various strategies to prevent infection as well as the search for a wide variety of materials with antimicrobial properties, however, despite the studies of a large number of materials, only a few types have entered clinical use, which continues to be a problem to be solved. Titanium and silver have studies with different medical devices such as dental implants and orthopedic articles that highlight their antimicrobial properties, as well as their biocompatibility with the human body, therefore, this project evaluated the antimicrobial properties from nano-films created with different percentages of the above mentioned metals and which are intended to be used in urinary catheters in order to make nano-coatings that help prevent infections caused by the use of these. The coatings were characterized morphologically to identify their influence on the bacterial inhibition response; the wettability of the films was also studied and subsequently associated with the adherence of bacteria and their respective response; microbiologically, by counting colony forming units (CFU/mL); and finally, the antimicrobial activity was evaluated in relation to the bacteria Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae y Escherichia coli. The film that worked best for E. coli was the plate with the Ti/Ag coating and for Proteus it was the Ti 270/ Ag90 film
