Abstract
Mandibular reconstruction using pedicle and free flaps have been fundamental techniques in the intervention of functional and aesthetic defects such as management of benign and malignant tumors, segmental bone reconstruction, osteoradionecrosis of the jaw, reconstruction of extraoral soft tissues below the commissure, of infrastructure of the maxilla and mandibulectomies among others.

La reconstrucción mandibular utilizando colgajos pediculados y libres han constituido técnicas fundamentales, en la intervención de defectos funcionales y estéticos como manejo en tumores benignos y malignos, reconstrucción ósea segmentaria, osteoradionecrosis mandibular, reconstrucción de partes blandas extraorales por debajo de la comisura, de infraestructura del maxilar superior y mandibulectomias entre otros.
