dc.description.abstractThe present proposal intends to examine the effect of the integration of the multiple intelligences in the implementation of a didactic unit aiming to foster EFL vocabulary learning on a research population made up of 8 girls and 12 boys. In order to follow up the effectiveness of the didactic unit, a comparison within the group will be carried out before and after the implementation. On one hand, an inventory multiple intelligence survey carried out on the 41 seventh grade students revealed that the predominant intelligences in the students were the interpersonal and the musical one. Hence the didactic unit will follow these guidelines by means of integrating hearing oriented task-based group activities in a cooperative learning teaching environment. On the other hand, the theoretical background will approach the theme of vocabulary teaching-learning strategies and approach, focusing its attention on the application of Gardner’s (1983) musical intelligence theory. The multiple intelligence diagnostic will be useful in the design of a vocabulary pretest and posttest, a student interview as well as the didactic unit to be implemented. This latter one will follow musical activities along with pair and group-work class arrangement as an interpersonal intelligence strategy.
