La lesión tipo Kennedy es una lesión tisular de inicio súbito y de progresión rápida que aparece en el final de la vida y se destaca por tener características especiales para su identificación, entre ellas su forma, localización, evolución y etiología que conllevan a realizar juicios sobre el pronóstico de vida de aquellas personas que las presentan. La identificación de este tipo de lesión es fundamental en los centros que brindan atención en salud, ya que permite adecuar el esfuerzo terapéutico, enfocándose a un cuidado paliativo
