Abstract

Most college students are in their late teens and their lifestyles can be considered a risk factor for chronic noncommunicable diseases. The objective of this article was to determine the lifestyles of the therapy students of an Institution of Higher Education with headquarters in Cali and Palmira, in Colombia. A cross-sectional descriptive quantitative study was carried out, evaluating each of the dimensions of physical activity, coping, interpersonal skills, sleep, leisure time, consumption of alcohol, cigarettes and illegal drugs. The research had a sample of 126 participants, in which the female sex predominated with 76.1%; 58.1% are between 18 and 21 years old; 90.4% single; 19.8% work and study; 40% of the physiotherapy program; 39.6% respiratory therapy; and 19.8% of speech therapy. Among the results, it stands out that, of eight evaluated dimensions of the lifestyle of these students, two obtained an unhealthy score: Physical activity and leisure; as well as a highly healthy: Food. It is concluded that no significant differences were found between the sociodemographic variables and the different dimensions evaluated
