Abstract
This article shows the importance of monitoring through statistical tools. Therefore, a characterization will be carried out on the graduates of the industrial engineering program of the Santiago de Cali University (USC). The characterization will be carried out through the application of a survey that will be structured in three phases and will have 49 questions in total, the first phase will contain the personal information of the graduate, the second will deal with the work history and the third on the academic information and the impact of graduates on the environment. It will be applied to a representative sample of 148 graduates of the industrial engineering program from the period 2015-A to 2020-B. It will be seen that 61.5% of the graduates are working and the majority, with 24.2%, are in the industrial sector and 68.1% have a permanent contract. The graduate stated that both the degree of satisfaction received by the program and the job opportunities for a graduate of the Santiago de Cali University are good, in the same way, the graduate reflected having a great sense of belonging to the University.

Este artículo evidencia la importancia de hacer seguimiento a través de herramientas estadísticas. Por esta razón se realizará una caracterización a los egresados del programa de ingeniería industrial de la Universidad Santiago de Cali (USC). La caracterización se hará a través de la aplicación de una encuesta que estará estructurada en tres fases y contará con 49 preguntas en total, la primera fase contendrá la información personal del egresado, la segunda tratará acerca de la historia laboral y la tercera sobre la información académica y el impacto de los egresados en el medio. Se aplicará a una muestra representativa de 148 egresados del programa de ingeniería industrial desde el periodo 2015-A hasta el 2020-B, Se evidenciará que el 61.5% de los egresados se encuentran laborando y en su mayoría, con un 24.2% se encuentran en el sector industrial y el 68.1% tienen contrato a término indefinido. El egresado manifestó que tanto el grado de satisfacción recibida por el programa, como las posibilidades laborales para un egresado de la Universidad Santiago de Cali son buenas, así mismo, el egresado reflejó tener un gran sentido de pertenencia por la Universidad.
