La fragaria (fresa) como agente aclarador dental, revisión de la literatura

The fragaria fruit commonly called strawberry and especially known in the gastronomic field, said fruit is characterized by containing different acids, in Colombia it is possible to find various varieties such as: La Chandler, The bird, La Miur and the Tioga. In addition to the use of La Fragaria as food, it is currently possible to find different publications in newspapers, websites and some studies about the use and some benefits of this fruit in the area of Dentistry, attributing these uses to its components; especially acids. The fragaria is used and named mainly by the general population as a possible lightening agent of the dental structure in an alternative method known as yourself DIY (do it yourself). Due to the rise of this fruit, it is necessary to carry out a review of the bibliography in international databases of the Santiago de Cali University to identify if the strawberry actually has lightening properties on the dental structure. After the review, it can be concluded that there is little information with a scientific basis and that it has an absence of certain relevant data which are important to give certainty about the effectiveness of said treatment
