Methods: quantitative descriptive type of study, a study with a quantitative descriptive approach was carried out. It was carried out with dental students of the Universidad Santiago de Cali, students from fourth to tenth semester in the exercise of clinical activity at the time of the survey were taken as a sample, 257 students participated, corresponding to 87% of the reference population.a survey was applied through Google workspace structured with 8 items, to evaluate the timely reporting of accidents that have occurred. Once the data were collected, they were tabulated and compared by means of quantitative analysis, for which they were plotted in diagrams and tables made with Google workspace and word tools showing the frequency and percentage values, calculated according to the number of individuals in each semester. This allows the analysis to be made according to the needs that are relevant. Results: It is observed that the percentage of students who have not had accidents during the internship is 63%, and the remaining 37% of the students who participated in the survey have had accidents during the internship. There is a tendency to decrease the risk according to the semester where it occurred, being the fourth semester the one with more accidents during the internship with a result of 39% of students who have had an accident during the internship. The accident rate according to the place of occurrence was higher in the Dental Clinic with a percentage of 44%. Conclusions: Based on the results of the surveyed students of the dentistry program from fourth to tenth semester of the Universidad Santiago de Cali, it can be confirmed that the site with the highest frequency of accident occurrence, during their formative practices, is the dental clinic of the Universidad Santiago de Cali, the semester where the highest accident rate is presented is fourth semester, It can be concluded that this may occur more frequently since the students are starting their clinical practices. In addition, the non-reporting of occupational accidents in the formative practice by the dental students is due to the fact that they do not give enough importance to the accident with a percentage of 76% of those surveyed.
