One of the main concerns of the companies is the control of the risks that undermine the integrity of their human, material and financial resources. The effect of an event like these negatively affects productivity threatening the strength and permanence of the company in the market. Companies should be concerned about the safety of their processes and especially of their workers, as they have an ethical responsibility to provide them with safe conditions and with the least risk to their integrity.Item Comportamiento mundial de accidentes de trabajo en el 2017(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Cañón Muñoz, Liliana Andrea; Rodríguez Ortiz, Jessica LorenaWork accidents are those unexpected events that occur in the performance of a work activity, with consequences for the worker and their environment. In this article we analyze the behavior of Work Accidents in 22 countries of the world, in the continents of America, Asia, Europe and Oceania in 2017, specifying the ATF Fatal Work Accidents and ATNF Non-Fatal Work Accidents. African countries are not included because they do not have clear records that show reliable information. The USA has the highest number of ATF and ATNF in the world. In Colombia to 2017, a total of 655.866 work accidents were registered.Item Determinación de las condiciones de salud y medio ambiente de trabajo, de los profesionales afiliados a la asociación colombiana de médicos veterinarios dedicados a la clínica de Pequeñas Especies, capitulo Valle, de la ciudad de Cali en el año 2017(2017) Cuartas Cortes, Viviana Gicel; Lemos, Liseht Melisa; Bedoya, María TeresaThe present work denotes the characterization of the health and working environment conditions of the Colombian Association of Veterinary Physicians dedicated to the small species clinic in Valle. For the development of this work, a descriptive analysis was carried out that diagnosed the risk situation in the companies, as well as the perception of risk by the collaborators, which were necessary to determine the intervention proposal. Among the results identified, it was established that despite not reporting high accident rates and occupational diseases by these companies, it is observed that in most of them there is a situation of health conditions and the work environment, relatively stable However, improvement actions that allow risk reduction should be implemented, since many of these companies do not have occupational health and safety programs that allow them to measure and mitigate potential occupational hazards. In this sense, the improvement strategies basically focused on four work fronts consisting of 1. Reducing the accident rate and occurrence of occupational diseases, 2. Implementing good manufacturing practices that promote prevention and control according to the identification of hazards , assessment and assessment of risks, 3. Comply with the applicable national regulations applicable to occupational hazards, and 4. Strengthen occupational safety and health knowledge, through the implementation of the annual Training Plan.Item Prevalencia de la accidentalidad laboral en una empresa del sector manufacturero de la ciudad de Santiago de Cali valle del cauca, durante los años 2017-2018(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Peña Sánchez, Martha Janeth; Castro Aranda, Álvaro EstebanThe behavior of occupational accidents was analyzed in a manufacturing company in the city of Santiago de Cali, Valle del Cauca between 2017 and 2018, identifying that the highest accident rate occurs in the administrative staff which is injured by 75% in common areas due to the displacements made by the production plant to obtain information for its process. In the year 2017 and 2018 there were injuries due to slips, trips, blows and footprints in 76% and 83% respectively. It was established that the most affected part of the body are lower limbs with 82% and that the most frequent causes are due to blows against objects, falls, muscular overexertion, sprains and sprains. The company had an accident rate of 6.27 for the year 2017 and 4.29 for the year 2018, compared to rates in the same sector of 3.5 and 4.1 respectively; with a cumulative prevalence of 5.5%.
