Item Caracterización del absentismo laboral por causa médica en una empresa del sector eléctrico de la ciudad de Cali durante Enero de 2016 A Agosto de 2017(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2017) Paez, Johanna Lizeth; Osorio Rincón, Ángela Marcela; Castro Aranda, Álvaro EstebanTitle: characterization of absenteeism due to medical reasons in a company in the electricity sector of the city of Cali during the period January 2016 to August 2017. Objective: to determine the absenteeism of medical cause in a company of the electric sector of the city of Cali during the period January 2016 to August 2017 Materials and methods: descriptive, quantitative, retrospective cross-sectional study in a database with information of 3,284 absences for medical reasons, in 1182 workers and 21,418 days not worked. Results: 83.04% were classified as occupational diseases, 16.9% as occupational accidents and 0.006% as occupational diseases. The charges that present the greatest number of absenteeism are the electrician technician, the line de-energized lines and the direct measurement technician. The most prevalent pathologies are diarrhea and gastroenteritis of presumed infectious origin, unspecified lumbago and viral infection, unspecified. The age range with the highest frequency of disabilities is from 31 to 35 years. The indicators report that there are, on average, 6.53 days of disability, 2.78 disabilities per worker, 20.65 days of disability per worker and 195,344 hours lost during the period analyzed. Conclusion: the quantitative analysis allows to obtain data of frequency and percentage, but it is necessary to carry out a more detailed analysis of the statistical data that show to leave the parameters to identify from a qualitative investigation the causal, risks or predisposing factors of legal, social, cultural, labor or economic that leads to the identified phenomenon.
