The Scrum methodology allows the formation of agile teams whose main characteristic is self-management, as well as being multifunctional and working in iterations. The purpose of this review article is to analyze the effectiveness of one of the most important roles in the Scrum methodology: The Product Owner, who is responsible for the success of the product from the Stakeholders' point of view. Among other things, it must have the capabilities to determine the vision and expectations of the interested parties, it must carry out the collection of requirements and, above all, continuously prioritize the Backlog of requirements. To further understand the factors that affect the effectiveness of the Product Owner role, a bibliographic review was carried out in different specialized databases to understand the generalities of the Scrum methodology and especially the Product Owner role.
