Item Influencia del ejercicio físico en la autoestima de los adolescentes latinoamericanos(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Guzmán Marulanda, Nicolás; Vallejo Delgado, Alexanderson; Rivera Hurtado, Ferney (Director)The practice of physical activity plays a fundamental role in the development of self-esteem in young people. Physical activity provides young people with a number of benefits that have a direct impact on their self-image. During adolescence, physical and emotional development is crucial for establishing personal identity. In addition to benefiting health, physical exercise has an important effect on adolescents' self-esteem. This research aims to investigate the effects of physical exercise on the self-esteem of young people. It seeks to understand how physical activity impacts on positive body perception and self-confidence. Different studies suggest that consistent exercise is related to an increase in self-confidence and a more positive body image among adolescents. The relationship is influenced by the feeling of success in achieving physical goals, the release of endorphins and the bond with one's own body. On the other hand, exercising provides the opportunity to interact socially and be part of sports teams, which strengthens self-esteem by experiencing a sense of belonging in a community. In addition, physical activity reduces stress and anxiety, which contributes to improving emotional state. In short, it is essential to encourage healthy exercise habits from an early age in order to achieve a complete development in adolescents. In addition to strengthening the body, movement also improves self-image and self-confidence. Promoting physical exercise during this period helps create a more confident and resilient generation.
