Introduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are the main cause of disability in the world, these disorders greatly limit mobility and dexterity, productivity and quality at work, which can be generating early retirement, lower levels of well-being and a lower capacity for social participation, apart from that, are considered one of the main causes of absenteeism from work. Objective: To determine the effects of occupational-related musculoskeletal pain prevention programs recorded in the available evidence. Methods: A bibliographic search was carried out through the databases, portals and academic directories of the Santiago de Cali University: Dialnet, Science Direct, Springer, DOAJ, and Pubmed, using MeSH/DeCS descriptors: musculoskeletal pain, occupational hazard, prevention programs, and workload, which were combined with the Boolean operator “AND”. The following inclusion criteria were taken into account: articles published between 2016-2022, in English and Spanish, and exclusion criteria: those that do not have free access and that are not relevant to the topic of interest. Results: The effects of prevention programs that involve hygiene, postural correction and physical exercise in the workplace, with strengthening, aerobic and stretching techniques, turn out to be beneficial for work-related musculoskeletal pain, ergonomic interventions present evidence of low quality. Conclusion: Prevention programs in the workplace can be a strategy that generates multiple benefits for both employees and employers, positively impacting the well-being of the worker and the productivity of the company, as well as the appearance of Musculoskeletal ailments.
