The epidemiological bulletin of Colombia, prematurity is the biggest cause of death between 2008 and 2018 with a higher risk of newborns under 1500 grams or intrauterine growth restriction. (14), it is important that nurses have a high level of knowledge regarding the method, which benefits the health status of an infant population by significantly helping to improve morbidity and mortality statistics and reduce costs in health institutions.Item Conocimiento y uso de métodos anticonceptivos en adolescentes de una institución educativa. Cali 2018B(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Jiménez Mina, Brenda Jazmín; Feijoo Izquierdo, Eliana Lorena; Rivera Romero, VivianaEl uso de métodos anticonceptivos en adolescentes es un tema que ha cobrado gran importancia en el país debido al bajo porcentaje de uso, identificado en estudios como la encuesta nacional de demografía y salud (ENDS) realizada en el año 2015, que muestra que el 69.9% de las adolescentes entre 15 y 19 años, no usan métodos de anticonceptivos comparado con los hombres adolescentes en el mismo rango de edad que son el 52.7 %.1 La adolescencia y la juventud enfrentan vulnerabilidades y riesgos en su vida sexual y reproductiva que los exponen a eventos problemáticos tales como el embarazo en la adolescencia. Es por esto que el Ministerio de Salud afirma que la maternidad juvenil tiene una mayor representación en comunidades pobres, reproduce el ciclo de pobreza y tiene como consecuencia para la sociedad una alta pérdida de población con posibilidades de educación y productividad, lo que finalmente repercute en la exclusión social.Item Conocimientos y prácticas de métodos anticonceptivos en estudiantes indígenas, Corinto (Cauca) 2019A(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Cortés Santana, Wilson; Giraldo Obando, Natalia; Perdomo Ortega, Maira Alejandra; Rivera Romero, VivianaEl presente estudio tuvo como propósito indagar sobre las conductas de salud sexual y reproductiva y sobre el uso de los métodos de planificación familiar. Para el logro de los objetivos, se realizará un estudio de tipo descriptivo, de corte transversal. Se aplicó una encuesta con los contenidos antes enunciados, a los estudiantes de comunidades indígenas que cursan los grados 10 y 11 grado de una institución educativa en el Municipio de Corinto Cauca. Los resultados arrojados sobre conocimientos y prácticas en el uso de los métodos de anticoncepción (considerándolo un instrumento eficaz en la prevención de la infección de transmisión sexual y control de la natalidad), en jóvenes, permitieron brindar herramientas útiles para la intervención educativa, en este grupo poblacional específico. Estos resultados también son una herramienta importante en la ejecución de planes de acción que contribuyen en la generación de cambios en las conductas de los individuos, frente a su salud sexual, percepciones frente al uso de los métodos de planificación, para minimizar el impacto que conlleva, dado que son individuos que vienen de una cultura totalmente diferente a la nuestra, donde para las comunidades indígenas el uso de métodos anticonceptivos es una falta hacia sus ancestros, dado que su cosmovisión frente a la vida es muy diferente a la del individuo occidental. These effects are attributable to exogenous manipulation of the endocannabinoid system by the biologically active compounds of the plant.Item Factors related to non-attendance to an arterial hypertension program(2021) Rivera Romero, Viviana; Buitrago Galindez, Samuel; Collazos Quintero, Yennifer; Ossa Narváez, KarolHigh blood pressure is a chronic disease; One difficulty in controlling it is non-attendance to hypertension programs, even though the Pan American Health Organization encourages the development of public health policies and projects to prevent high blood pressure, as well as supporting projects that facilitate the provision of drugs. necessary for their care and prevention. That is why, through a descriptive cross-sectional study, information is collected on the factors that intervene in the non-attendance to control in an arterial hypertension program in a State Social Enterprise north of the department of Cauca-Colombia, with a population of 810 patients; Obtaining a sample of 260 people, additionally, a non-response proportion (20%) was applied, reaching a total of 312 participants. Among the results, 72.1% were women, 35.3% were between 61-70 years old. As non-attendance factors, the following were found: 30.8% forgetfulness, insufficient appointment reminders used by the institution, 52.6% and more than 80% feel satisfied with the care provided by health personnel. Concluding, that it is necessary to reorient the programs considering gender characteristics and strengthen strategies that bring the programs closer to the population.Item Hábitos alimenticios estudiantes de una institución educativa del grado octavo y noveno en Cali(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2019) Rivas Murillo, Maryory; Valencia Luna, Kelly Herminia; Rivera Romero, VivianaThe first years of life is fundamental in the acquisition and development of eating habits that determine the nutritional status in later stages of life, especially adolescence where their importance is decisive in the prevention of chronic noncommunicable diseases, such as : obesity, malnutrition, anemia. Adolescence is a stage in which eating habits are formed, taste, preferences and temporary or temporary resistance to some foods are defined, constituting the basis of eating behavior for the rest of life; also family, cultural, social circumstances among others influence the nutritional personality of each teenager, often depending on the nutritional status of each of them. Thus, the consequences of a bad practice of eating habits in adolescents lead to malnutrition, overweight and obesity, which can be caused by changes in lifestyle, socioeconomic status, media that spread messages of Poor nutritious foods, being subject to rigid school schedules, and other activities.Item Intervenciones para empoderar al paciente con Diabetes tipo 2 en el entorno hospitalario(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2024) Joven Puentes, Laura Camila; Zamora Narváez, Valeria; Cerón Huertas, Fabián Andrés; Rivera Romero, VivianaItem Lifestyle of students of health care technological careers(Venezuelan Society of Pharmacology and Clinical and Therapeutic Pharmacology, 2020-07-07) Zambrano Bermeo, Rosa Nury; Rivera Romero, VivianaObjetivo: Determinar estilos de vida de los estudiantes de las carreras tecnológicas de una Institución de Educación Superior del área de la Salud. Métodos: Estudio correlacional de corte transversal, se utilizó el instrumento validado (CEVJU-R2). Muestreo probabilístico, aleatorio estratificado por programas y semestres, el análisis de los datos se realizó mediante el paquete estadístico SPSS 21.0. Resultados: La muestra presentó una edad promedio 18-21 años (66%); 55% de los estudiantes fueron mujeres; 80% solteros; 61% presentaron un Índice de Masa Corporal normal y 28,5% presentó sobrepeso. De las siete dimensiones evaluadas, solamente la dimensión de actividad física se encontró no saludable y el principal motivo para no practicarla fue pereza con 53,17%. Se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre hombres y mujeres en las prácticas de actividad física (p=0,02). Conclusiones. El estudiar una carrera de salud no es suficiente para que los estudiantes eviten conductas de riesgo y tengan estilos de vida que favorezcan su propia salud.Item Lifestyles of university students(2021) Zambrano Bermeo, Rosa Nury; Rivera Romero, Viviana; Rincón Villegas, FabiolaMost college students are in their late teens and their lifestyles can be considered a risk factor for chronic noncommunicable diseases. The objective of this article was to determine the lifestyles of the therapy students of an Institution of Higher Education with headquarters in Cali and Palmira, in Colombia. A cross-sectional descriptive quantitative study was carried out, evaluating each of the dimensions of physical activity, coping, interpersonal skills, sleep, leisure time, consumption of alcohol, cigarettes and illegal drugs. The research had a sample of 126 participants, in which the female sex predominated with 76.1%; 58.1% are between 18 and 21 years old; 90.4% single; 19.8% work and study; 40% of the physiotherapy program; 39.6% respiratory therapy; and 19.8% of speech therapy. Among the results, it stands out that, of eight evaluated dimensions of the lifestyle of these students, two obtained an unhealthy score: Physical activity and leisure; as well as a highly healthy: Food. It is concluded that no significant differences were found between the sociodemographic variables and the different dimensions evaluatedItem Relación de alimentación y enfermedades cardiovasculares en habitantes del municipio de Palmira 2021-2022(2022) Martínez lozano, Daniela; Ruiz Estrada, Sol Jhohana; Suarez Cruz, Alexandra; Rivera Romero, VivianaObjective: the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of diet and cardiovascular diseases in inhabitants between 51 and 64 years of age in the municipality of Palmira during 2021. Methods: Quantitative study, descriptive correlational and cross-sectional, a simple random sampling was carried out that included residents in the city of palmyra between 51 and 64 years old, sociodemographic characteristics were evaluated, Food Consumption Frequency Questionnaire and cardiovascular risk assessment with the Framinghan questionnaire. Results: 121 participants completed the study, 36.4% men and 62% women, with an average age of 56.12 ± (3.88), most belonged to a medium socioeconomic stratum 47.1% with a monthly income between 1 and 2 minimum wages 34.7%, as clinical characteristics the mean Body Mass Index (BMI) was 28.29 ± (4.75) 43% overweight, in addition to this most had arterial hypertension grade I or 2 48%, in the Frequency of Consumption Questionnaire, inadequate consumption is observed due to excess of flour and legume products (67.8%) miscellaneous (41.3%), dairy (56.2%), inadequate consumption of fats and oils in 100%, the general classification indicates that only 23.1% have an adequate nutritional status, referring to cardiovascular risk the probability of event in 10 years is 1%, also a relationship was also found between meat and legume consumption, BMI and systolic blood pressure.
