Item Desarrollo de películas de desintegración oral a base de biopolímeros como forma de administración del fármaco acetaminofén(Universidad Santiago de Cali, 2023) Portilla Cuastumal, Leidy Dajanna; Saldaña Satizabal, Laura Cristina; Caicedo Cano, Carolina (Directora); Fonseca García, Abril (Directora)The oral route is the most preferred means of administration, however many patients find it difficult to swallow tablets and capsules, for which the advantages of orally disintegrating films have been considered as an alternative pharmaceutical form, the objective of this work was to develop and to evaluate the optimal ratio of an orally disintegrable film based on cassava starch, chitosan and maltodextrin, to contain an active release component such as acetaminophen. Under this study, the polymeric formulation 60:20:20 (Starch: chitosan: maltodextrin) was used by the casting method, then a maximum load of active component of 11,75% (w/w) was added to said polymeric matrix and its characterization was carried out. The results obtained show that the FTIR spectra did not reveal new vibration peaks in the films with active principle. The tensile strength and the elongation at break of the films with acetaminophen gave values of 24,63 MPa and 4,05% respectively. On the other hand, disintegration times of 48 s were shown at a thickness of 0.04 mm and an in vitro dissolution time of 10 minutes to release about 73% of the acetaminophen and 15 minutes to release all of the active ingredient. Given the above, it was possible to conclude that the characterization of the orally disintegrating films based on starch, chitosan and maltodextrin showed good orodispersible properties whose 60:20:20 polymer formulation (starch: chitosan: maltodextrin) presented adequate structural, mechanical and physicochemical.
