The objective of the following article is to conduct a literature review to identify the different approaches to leadership in organizations. An investigation was carried out, which consisted of collecting information through scientific databases, using keywords such as: leadership, organization and direction. Thus obtaining various articles, of which thirty were selected. Evidence of different findings regarding characteristics and types of leadership, resulting in leadership in organizations is essential, since it influences the performance of employees, concluding that there are at least two types of transcendental leadership that managers incorporate depending on the organizational needs.
